Can anyone suggest the size of the alternator for a 2001, 6.0L 2500 4x4 suburban?

130 amp or 105 amp?

THanks

I think your Suburban came with either of the 2.

Depending on accessories.

Did you add anything?

Physically they are the same size.

Check the codes in your glove box,
KG8 =130 amp
K68 = 105 amp

It should also be stamped on the alternator case and the 105 amp alt usually has a plastic shroud on the back side. They are usually not the same size, the 130 amp alt requires a longer belt but the bolt patterns are the same.

This is for factory alts only, there are many aftermarket HO alternators available with the 105 amp case that kick out much more than the 130 amp

Do a search for delco cs130 high output to find more
