Where to start.......

First of all, the subject line for this thread is redundant. Americans speak a whole lot in this forum.

Secondly, the 'whiners' you complain about are just using their 'freedoms' of which you praise so highly.
If you take issue with their comments, then debate them intellegently on the issues. However, it is the heght ot hypcracy to attack them for the very act of exercising their right for free speech.

Thirdly, one of the greatest things any citizen can do is to criticise their country. It is is the expression of the true patriot to point out why things are deficient and how they can be improved. It is not 'whining', it is being constructive.

Fourthly, you obviously have precious little knowledge of the world beyond your border. The US, like almost all other nations is economically and financially dependent on other countries. It is in the best onterest of the US to be involved internationally to (try) to develop international trade and stability, by, among other things, 'helping them'.

Finally, why do you insist on capitalizing every word? Not only is it incorrect punctuation, but it makes your post unnecessarily difficult to read.

I Am An American And Very Proud To Be Here.Don't you mean a USA'n? "America" is a much larger place than you are refering to. It is a continent, not a country.

I Really Get Tired Of All The Whiners That Complain About This Great Country .
As long as we're considering USA'n opinions, how about we hear from someone at the coal-face...like Al Lorentz (http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig5/lorentz1.html) for instance.

I Say We Stop Helping Them Let Them Kill Them Selves For What Ever They Want. ?
I say you stop killing them and let them help themselves for whatever they want.

So tell me do we call ours selfs usa's or americans?Probably americans same as you always have.

North American is a bit more accurate - but be aware that there is a reason Canadian backpackers (and some USA'ns) sew a maple leaf on their packs when travelling overseas.

I can't stand the whole " You cant say that your an american because you arent from the only counrty in the americas" thing. Lets face it most countries call their people by the last word of their countries name. Well I'm from the United states of America so arent I an American? People really need to just get over it. It's pure symantics anyways.

Ya cant say that I disagree with him, however we can't really free ourselves to work to our fullest because of the global backlash it would cause. As a few here will tell you I'm not really the most simpathetic person when it comes to the rest of the world, but to use the amount of force necessary to win this war on Al Lorentz's terms would cause too much of a global backlash in my honest opinion.

Well I've never met a black, brown, white, purple, or any other color of a person who has attached afro, mex, polish, or any other name to there name when talking about their own race. I've only met a few people who added those prefixes so they would be politically correct.

Just because you had to check ethnicity doesn't mean you aren't considered an American. Keep in mind that America is the Great Melting Pot.

That said, the USA'n/American thing was just one of three comments made in my first post. I'd be more interested in reactions to the other two comments - but I guess people are getting tired of going over the same ground. :disappoin

That special 'american' blend of ignorance and arrogance demonstrated most ably by the topic starter is a good place to start as to why the rest of the world can't stand you.

Play fair Oz, not every American demonstrates recto-cranial inversion to the degree shown by this specimen.Despite being barely coherent he's managed to fit in all the main cliches of the breed far more simply than a mere human could.

Absolutely agree Naki. I just said it was attitudes like his that make us feel that way. Thank Christ for some of the other Americans and their attitudes that give us hope for the nation.

This guy doesn't represent all Americans in any way. And Americans haven't all of a sudden just become cocky in the last few decades, we've always been cocky; It's as American as baseball, hotdogs, and apple pie.

Maybe we're arrogant and cocky because our neighbors across the sea's think they're so much more sophisticated and better than us as Taranaki pretty much proved with his post.

LOL...considering I was gently steering Oz away from making statements that could be interpreteted as applying to Americans in general, I find your comments amusing. I don't see myself as smarter than the average American, just smarter than those who are too stupid or too damn lazy to read what I have written. If you are going to comment on my posts, please at least have the courtesy to read them carefully before you slap down your preconceived notions.

Nope, i reread and those were definately the vibes i was getting... Sure you were talking about the other guy and not Americans in general, but your posts you've made in the past have clearly stated what you think of Americans in general, so i dont think i was to wrong to assume you think most Americans are dumb rednecks.

This post represents everything wrong with "Americans" today - rampant ignorance, stupidity, blindness, and arrogance.
Thank the almighty creator that he was kind enough to also populate this beautiful land with people that have functioning brains.
Shall we look at the post in detail now? Yes we should:
I Really Get Tired Of All The Whiners That Complain About This Great Country .
This is a great country, I've travelled to several others and haven't seen a country so beautiful. However, I get the feeling that these whiners are complaining about the fools, idiots, and assholes that inhabit and run this great country - not the country itself.
How We Are Wasters We Only Care About Our Big Suv's Well If Those Other Countrys Worked As Hard As Wehave They Would Have The Richs We Have.
The United States isn't the richest country (unless you count our abundant supply of morons) - other richer countries must have better taste, and spend their money more wisely and carefully if they're lacking such idiotic and purposeless things as SUVs.
I Say We Stop Helping Them Let Them Kill Them Selves For What Ever They Want.
I agree that we should stop helping them - we need alot of help ourselves, and I'm fearful that the United States will probably do themselves in because of how blind and wastefull so many Americans actually are.
I love this country more than anything else in my life - it's a shame that in return for living on the greatest land on Earth - I'm constantly tortured by so many idiots proclaiming that idiocy, selfishness, narrow mindedness, and arrogance - are the "American" way. :crying:

Actually I disagree with you guys on this one. Not all Americans are this way, it's usually just those who are too lazy/stupid/ignorant to actually question what they are fed by media and people that surround them. This attribute is human, not American.

And therein lies a vast quantity (but not majority, IMHO) of American slobs. Luckily, we also have some of the hardest working/smartest/open minded people on the face of the planet, to balance it out somewhat.

Speaking as a Canadian who has lived among Americans, I would say those characteristics are actually encouraged in many households and social circles.

In Canada, there is a certain level of anti-Americanism, largely due to our experiences with the US, such as in trade agreements and disputes, the mainstream US media, and as has been mentioned already, the "American Attitude".

I would also say that most Americans are fed preconceived notions since birth, many of which are incorrect. Things such as "The US saving everyones ass in WW2", Americans being the hardest working people, etc... I have worked with people of many nationalities, and I find that Canadians and Americans are about as hard working, but immigrants to our countries put those of us who were born here to shame, most of the time.

I agree 100% with that statement. Why hire lazy teenage americans when you can hire cheap hardworking immigrants.

The Americans don't own this market I would suggest you guys also look in the mirror.

Several years ago I liked to watch this show on tv, the show was called "X FILES". I must say you guys are a bunch of Fox Mulder's.
