radio install help and other issues

installed a new radio in my 99 grand vitara and it worked but when i tried to screw it in, it didnt work anymore. i checked the fuses and they are all fine. not only that, i have a service engine soon light on now and my door open alarm doesnt go off. how can i fix this or do i have to take it to a place now? how can i check for codes and how can i get my radio to work now? i tried reinstalling the old one and it doesnt work either. if anyone can help, please please please.

my guess is you have a bare wire touching metal and its overloaded something

How did you hook up everything? Did you hack the wires, use a wiring harness adaptor and then just wrap and tape the wires together? That's the most common do it your selfer problems I see in my shop. I would just check all the wires for them shorting out like stated then replace the blown fuse you have.
