Hey everyone, I'm going to be in two different weddings within two weeks at the end of this month. With rehearsal dinners and the receptions, I'm probably going to be consuming more alcohol in two weeks than I have all summer. If anyone have a way of feeling better in the morning after a night of drinking, please fill me in. And yes, tequila will be involved!

certian chemicals in RAW eggs have been proven to reduce the impact of a hangover.
avacados, bananas, and crackers are great foods to get into your system BEFORE you go to sleep. these foods contain electrolytes that aid in the absorption of water in your body's cells.
also, try to stay up atleast an hour after you complete drinking before you hit the sack. one last tip, do not sleep for that long. try to set the alarm for 4-5 hours. then you must get up and get some water into your system. try once again to consume electrolytes.
any citrus juice would be good to drink in the morning right when you wake up. this is because they have potassium just like the fruits i mentioned earlier that you should eat before you go to bed. also, simple carbs absorb quickly into your system to allow any function in your body to take place at a quicker pace.
i suggest juice before you get any solid foods into your system. atleast i have an uneasy stomach when i awake the following morning after a night of drinking.
(many other people on here will just say build your tolerance)

Drink a lot of water while drinking.
For the morning after, drink Powerade.

Drink water before sleep, 2 powerades straight away when you wake up. Eat relatively unprocessed foods for the first 2 meals - things like bananas and yoghurt. Avoid greasy crap.

Don't mix your hard liquer, beer, and wine. No remedy on earth will save you if you mix things. I, personally, would avoid tequila at all costs. I got wasted on tequila for my 21 and it was the ONLY time a hangover lasted all day and I was unable to properly function.
Like other people said, it's all about keeping you hydrated. Water and powerade work great but I've heard that baby drink Pediolite works the best. Never tried it but my brother swears by it.

Mixing drinks is a myth. It makes no difference to the rate at which your body can absorb/process alcohol. Mix away!

Not really, been there done that, its not all its hyped up to be, especially in college. Just pointing out that for me at least having a drink the next day eases the headache. Besides I have whats knowned as a "reverse hangover". I wake up fine and by the end of the day I feel like I have a train run over me. Strange but true.

mixing depends on the person...causes problems to some people, not to others. i had 1 beer and 3 shots of vodka and a had a decent hangover the next day. 15 shots of vodka and i just felt weird...not sick.
anyways, pound tons of water before you go to bed and pretty much do what everyone else suggested

I don't mean to be crude...but gatorade, 2 advil and a good blowjob was my trusted college remedy. One rehydrates, one dulls the pain and the last increases blood flow to help speed the effects of the first two.

TS - hair of the dog. If you ended the night with, say, a pint of Guiness, start the next day with another pint of guiness. If you ended the night with a tequila shot, start the new day with a tequila shot.
Tried and true. :icon16:

I've tried so many things, but the only thing that has ever worked for me was tea. Strange but true, I drink tea the whole next day and it calms my stomach. As a matter of fact, that's what I did this morning, worked beautifully. Try it, you won't believe how well it works, if it weren't for tea I wouldn't be keeping solid foods down right now.
Edit: Don't take Tylenol or any acetaminophen pain killer, when combined with alcohol it's damaging effects on your liver increase exponentially. If your going to take pain killers take Ibuprofen.

nothing works better for me than a huge glass of water/gatorade before bed (dual purpose: rehydrate and gets you up in a few hours to piss and drink more water/gatorade)
and the next morning/afternoon depending on when I wake up I go and get some nice greasy food like mcdonald's.... works like a charm.

Odd, since usually tea is the last thing you want to drink with a hangover. The tannin in tea dehydrates you a lot.

NEVER eat at Mcdonalds. Especially during a hangover. (I work there and would know, SOoooo nasty there. i call it McNaziCamp cuz i work for a bunch of fat sexist lesbain guapo runners) Ive only had one hangover last haloween night, and once you wake up in your own puke, or in my case SOMEONE ELSES the last thing you think about is what kind of tea to put on the keddle.

I am lucky enough to not get hangovers. Not sure why, even when I got alcohol poisoning, no hangover. I have been told to slam a powerade or 2 before bed. Eat some crackers, then repeat when you wake up.

its a genetic thing. thats why you don't get hangovers.
(I don't get them terribly bad either... not to say that I go drinking all the time...)

Yes...it may "work" but do you know what is in it? Really, I'm serious. Read the side and then meander over to the vitamin isle. All it is is vitamin C & D and a few others....I'll have to look it up, but either 1) Drink water before you go to bed or 2) Keep drinkin when you wake up. I'd usually choose #2 but its all up to you.....
*EDIT*: After reading the back of the box...It contains calcium carbonate and "vegetable minerals", vitamin C &D, all it does is help with absorbtion making you have to drink more to get drunk and helps A LITTLE BIT to keep you from getting dehydration. My recommendation still stands, take it as you may. PM me if you have anymore questions

With Kate, drink in the morn will do it. I've never had a hangover which is weird for as much as I drink at parties but eh, I do follow that wakin up early. I dont sleep long after parties. I'm up in like 4-6 hours.

Eat a huge steak before you start drinking, the protien in the steak absorbs the alcohol before it can enter the blood stream allowing you to drink more and have less of a hangover.

08-30-2004, 02:10 PM
wouldn't that also make you less drunk?

Holy Crap... O.K....how about this then, I'll eat something, take chaser, and drink water before I drink, wake up and drink Powerade and Orange Juice. Sorry Twospirits, but when I've had hangovers before, the last thing I felt like was another drink. Uh...I'm not sure how well a BJ would help...but I'll just have to take your word for it and try it anyway. Thanks Guys

Speaking of tequila, my ex- wife is Mexican. Her family always mixed 1 part V-8 juice, 1Part beer, juice of half a lemon and salt to taste. It worked wonders for me.

I should clarify that the next day if one has a hangover to only have one drink. For some reason it helps. Not to continue drinking. But I only have had few wake up hangovers in my lifetime, the rest have been waking up fine and by then end of the day I feel like crap. Strange but true.

Yeah the one time i did drink and had a hangover the LAST thing i felt like doing was drink more. Pretty sure i would have puked and died from it if i did, but i heard that works so party on.
