Charge & Break Light on????

Both my Charge and Break light comes on while driving. They either flicker or stay solid. My headlights go dim when they are on, but my car has yet to die. When i accelerate, they go out for a few seconds. I sometimes can hear alot of clicking noise from under the hood, as if a relay is making or something. I checked the belts and they look fine.

I was wondering if its something specific that i can look at before i bring it to a shop? I could understaind only the Charge light comming on if it was belts, alternator or something. but it baffles me why both the break and charge light comes on together.

I tested the Battery alone and its fine. I also tested it with the engine running and the warning lights on. It isnt charging but it also isnt dieing, holding a steady charge of 12.

Replace the brushes in the alternator. Look on the back of the
alternator, you should see three six mm nuts, take those off, pull the cover off and see if you have a blue plastic brush holder inside, squeeze
the release tabs and pull the brushes out and install the new ones from the part store,
