i have a 1991 dodge dynasty 3.3 engine, auto transmission, it cranks and everything goes smoothly like it should until i get like 4 miles down the road and it cuts off - just like you flip a light switch... - after it shuts off you can wait a couple minutes and it'll start and run all over again... I checked fuses, relays, and even put a new coil pack on it.. it still does the same thing.. any help would be appreciated... please help

Did you ever find out what was causing this problem with your dynasty?

I have the same problem. Someone is telling me that my CAM Sensor needs replacing. Does this sound right?

That sounds accurate. Did the check engine light come on at any time?

93 dodge dynasty doin the same thing. it is very annoying to feel your car is crapping out on you every day on the way to and from work... Luckily after about 1-15 minutes it starts right back up, hmmm. I do the error codes and get 11 12 forget and 55. I have had to replace the starter now 2 times due to this problem. I was told it is everything from the cam position sensor to the crank somethingorother. Does anyone know the fix for this clearly global problem, hehe..... db

code 11 is your cam sensor; have that checked out and replaced.

I have a Dynasty doing exactly the same thing. Only mine hasn't dropped any codes yet. Was wondering if you guys found the problem or if it was indeed the cam sensor. I will look at mine again this weekend. Very frustrating.

Just to let you guys know .... stretched timing chain was the culprit with my 3.3 (115k). Code 11 never dropped because it only drops during start mode and not run mode.
FYI, you can check slop in the chain by dropping the oil pan. My chain had almost an inch of side-to-side slop which translated to over an 1/8 inch sprocket rotation play. New chain has very little slop and virtually no sprocket play.

I have just about the same problem on my 89 3.0L Dynasty, no codes, fires right up and runs fine for a min. Then acts like it is losing fuel presure, everything checks out fine, has anyone found a cure for this?

That light means that system has low voltage, prob ur alternator is dying on u. Get this looked at right away because it will leave u stuck on the side of the road. is it near stalling or stalling on u??

I have a 90 Dynasty 3.0 and I went and still going through the same thing of spitting and hasitating,:banghead: but I'm dune now with my car it's going in as a trade in or for sell, but I have put so much money in my car that I'm sick of fooling with it and I can basicly tell ya'll that it's either going to be your Oxygen Senser(s) or it's going to be your Fuel Pressure Regulator. If ya'll can do it your self do so, don't take it to a shop they will charge out the ying-yangto do all that it it's not hard to do your self.

Have any of you heard of a Dynasty having no cam or crank response, so no spark. Died on the road after driving 8 miles. Changed Sensors and still nothing. 90% sure wiring is ok, auto shutdown relay ok, Think it could be a computer???

My brother has a 90 Dynasty doing this and what we have figured out is that when the fuel level is below 1/4 of a tank it dies. Leave it sit for a few minutes and its fine for a few miles then dies again. When the gas tank is full it does not do it. We have been told the fuel pump is going and it overheats when the fuel level is low. High pressure fuel pumps need to be submerged in the gas to keep it cool and running with a low tank too much causes it to fail early. But I will also keep the cam position sensor in mind. Has anyone else replaced the cam sensor and had luck?
