04 Durango Exhaust noise

Has anyone heard a clicking sound coming from the exhaust on the 04 durango? It almost sounds like the noise that the engine makes when it's cooling off after you shut it off. But it's more constant even when your driving. Brought it to the dealership and they said it's normal. How can it be normal if it only started making this noise about 2 weeks ago. Anyone care to comment?

SYMPTOM:
A drive line vibration or drone may be present between 1900 and 2400 RPM. The condition is most noticeable on light acceleration or at steady cruising speed at 1900 RPM on vehicles with 5.7L and 4.7L engines and at 2400 RPM on 3.7L engines.

The fix involves installing a Damper and re-aligning the exhaust. the TSB number is 11-002-04. As far as the ticking noise its the pulse of the fuel injector, yes there loud thats why i brought mine in, dont worry its normal

Is there anything they can do to fix that ticking noise? And why has it only happened recently? I've have the durango since January but I've only started hearing it over the past month or so. And it also makes the noise even after you shut the truck off. Once it's cooled then it stops. Is this still the same problem or could it be something else?

if its making the ticking noise when the ignition is off then maybe its something else, when you brought it in what did they say it was ?

They said it was just exhaust noise and that it was normal. When you listen closely it does sound like it's coming from the exhaust. No way is it normal. It just started making the noise a few weeks ago. They claim there is nothing they can do for it. It does it when the truck is running and also when the ignition is off. But once it cools down it stops.

I have the same noise but you can hear it at idle as well. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the cat on the drivers side. After waiting 10 days for it to come in and another day to put it on ...the noise is still there. It sounds like someone hitting the exhaust with a hammer. It's definitely louder than any vehicle I've ever owned. Anyway the dealer also tells me it's normal now. Go figure.

Is it a hemi? There is a problem with the exhaust valves. They have valves with oversize stems to address the tick at idle. There is no tsb for it,so some dealers may not know about it.Tell them to check star online for solution number K59926684 or K21050787
