I'm new at this thing so can anybody explain to me about 4 way 3 way and 2 way speakers. i have a truck so there is only two places for speakers on the doors so which would be better. I could put 2 under my seat if 4 way means 4 different speakers. I dont Know!!!! just help me anybody. I won't be on this site any more.

if u are talking about pioneer they have anywhere from 2-5 way speakers they just add mids and tweeters thats all

3 ways can be very nice if done right by a good manufacture. CDT makes some braxials that I hear people rave about all the time

braxials are just components with the tweeter mounted like its a coaxial, aren't they? so if someone has a set of components and they expect them to perform like coaxials and they get component type of range and performance, they will rave a bunch

lol why are u going to pioneer speakers.. i jus think they can't take enough power.. i would go for maybe infinity or something jsut because they can take more power

Just answer my question people!!! I have a single cab truck so there is only two spots for speakers. What way of speakers should I get. There has to be a difference if they get more expensive from 2 way to 4 way. Can somebody just tell me what "way"I should get !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU should get 2 ways, I dont think you have the cabability to make 3 ways sound right, and 4 way is pointless.

I'm not installing them if that has anything to do with me having the capability to make them sound right. A professionial is going to install them.

4-ways are more expensive because they have more speakers built in, it's as simple as that, I thought that would be pretty obvious. The thing you have to realize is that more speakers is NOT always better. I have better sound in my car with a grand total of 5 speakers than I have ever heard, in any car or store, ever.

4 way is 4 speakers in 1, 3 way is 3 speakers in 1, 2 way is 2 speakers in 1. My system would be like having a single pair of 2 ways and a sub. Anyway, like I said above, anything over 2 way is a waste. The added super tweeters that you get on the 3-4 way models really don't do a damn thing. The normal tweeter can easily play up to and above the audible frequency range, so there's no point in having a tweeter that can play even higher since you can't even hear it. You're paying extra money for useless speakers, and in fact many of the 4 ways don't even have 4 speakers, they have 3 speakers and a fake plastic dome that's supposed to look like a 4th speaker.
