Wow, what a complete difference in how the paint goes on compared to a rattle can.

I've only sprayed some automotive high build primer so far.

One question though. I was having a really hard time getting the primer to go on smooth. I was getting over spray settling on the parts as I sprayed them.

I started spraying at 35 psi, like Paasche recommends for reduced lacquers. I then dropped down to 30 and it got better. By the end I was at 25 psi and and it was going on smoother but still not perfect. I'm assuming that dropping down to 20 psi would help even more.

Its a Paasche VL BTW.

I have one quick general airbrush question aswell. What is the usual spray distance for an airbrush? I was having to spray at 3-4 inches to get good coverage. Is this normal?

Mike.

Try lower Pressure

For fine details, I use 7psi with my Anthem. I never work over 25psi

anywhere from 1" to 8" is fine. All depend of what pressure you use and what you want to do. Isn't Paasche VL have a manual ? Badger have one that explain the basic of airbrushing
