I'm going to try and build my first bodykit for my FTO. I was planning to do the veilside bodykit but I keep looking at it and I don't know how to do it?
I don't know which parts I should cut off and whatnot. Maybe someone could help me out to convert this

Here is my approach:
with the front bumper; you can cut the lower part from you old bumper, bellow the red line in the pic

Then this part needs to be cut away

then the lower part of the veilside bumper needs to be made with styrene and putty (A) .
The B part needs to be cutted and moved back, then fill with putty :screwy: (it's hard to explain)

Thats the way i should have done it i guess.

Cool thanks!

Hmm... I was just thinking about cutting those parts.. but what to cut it with? Just a regular modeling knife?

I must say that i use a dremel with a cutting disk to do this stuff. but if you have patience you can use a good hobby knife. ps. i think there is a faq around here about cutting doors and hoods and such, it could help

here it is http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61545

you can cut like a butcher, anyway, there is a lot of putty and styrene work to do.

Cool project, hard one for starting, but it does look good

OK Here I go.. I'm just going to use a modeling knife...

More help will be appreciated.

UPDATE : I CRACKED THE MODEL! Oh well.. guess I'll have to fix it with some putty.

you need a dremel to remove that much plastic, unless you want to go mad.

I did it.. lol.. I used a sprue cutter and cracked a bit of the plastic but I can fix it easily..
Also have a progress thread so you can check it out. Not much progress yet.
