I am looking to buy a new car soon, right now i am strongly considering getting a 91-95 MR2 Turbo. right now i don't know too much about them. does anyone know where i can get some basic info: curb weight, factory HP and Torque #s, etc.
Also what is the basic lader of upgrades, i.e. intake, exhaust, turbo, what order and prices versus the gains u get.
Finally are there any bottlenecks or know problems i should know about, what ?s should i ask and what would a good price be.
Thanks for putting up with my N00b ?s.

PS. i'm n00b so i don't know for sure but from what I know about my current car a honda civic, hondas are speed density insead of a sensor, so are mr2s and "to atmosphear" blow-off valves only mess with non- speed-density systems. just my .02

Specs for turbo model only:
'91-'92= Identical. 200hp/200tq using the CT26 turbo. Curb weight depending on options ranges from 2600-2800 lbs. 0-60mph 6.0 seconds.
The turbo mr2 power is extremely detuned when stock, making it simple to unleash it's true strength:
http://www.mrcontrols.com/primers/power.htm
Minor modifications make the turbo mr2 scary-fast. With it's speed and midengine setup, the mr2 grips and performs among the best.
'93= New 15" rims (from 14"), more user-friendly suspension, car sits 1" lower than 91/92 years. Optional LSD transmission, much-improved syncros.
'94-95= Extremely rare and expensive. Different tail lights, different spoiler. New CT20b turbo for even more unlockable power.
'96-'99= not sold in the US, with some aesthetic changes
As for aftermarket BOVs.... NOT the best performance choice. At the cost of gaining the cool blowoff sound, you sacrifice running rich/faltering/stalling performance-wise with anything other than the perfect stock bov.
When buying an mr2, check it out like any other car. Take her for a drive, watch the powerband during acceleration- it should be smooth. Feel the brakes, push down on the car and feel the struts- they should be nice and tight. Let the car run, then back it up, and look underneath for any leaks. For the turbo, check for play, watch the boost- it should be strong and smooth.
Ask for maintenance records, check carfax for accidents.
Any modifications? If so be careful, the owner probably goosed the car often.
