C230 Front End Noise

I have a 2002 C230 and have been having front end wheel noise. I suspected the shocks (but it only has 33,000 miles). The dealer replaced the front shocks, struts and sway bar. Now the car if fine for about the first 3 miles of driving then the noise is back. Anybody hear of anything like this? This next trip to the dealer will be the 4th to try to get this fixed.

Front end wheel noise?

Well, is this more like a knocking noise over bumps or is more of a rotational noise with the tires? A little more info is needed. :)

Roll bar links? They've produced a modified one for some new models but I guess the dealer would have tried that, being it's a "known common fault"......not sure. As per last person...more info please!

Did you find out what the problems (and fix) was? I have just seen a C 320 with a shocking (sorry) front-end noise - exectly as you described. The owner said they'd taken it back to the dealer and were told there was nothing wrong with it!

Yeh, anti-roll bar links/roll bar. However if it's on start up, some of the W203 C Classes have noisy cam adjusters, which makes a sort of graunching noise on start up, a bit like a starter motor sticking.

I have the 2002 C320 and have the same issue. It is like a low knocking thudding noise that is audible when going over small bumps. It is also front left. I asked the dealer who told me to "bring it in". I wanted to check if anyone had solved the problem before handing over my checkbook to some eager mechanics who need overtime :)
