uneven tire wear on inside fronts

I have a 99 M3 Dinan Stage 1 and I'm getting a lot of road noise from the front tires. Upon inspection I notice the inside half of the tire is getting raised edges, but just on the inside. The car has relatively new Potenza tires on it and the vehicle only has 26,000 miles on it. I have owned it for a couple of months now. My first thought was the camber or another measurement on the alignment was off; either that or the shocks were worn. But the car handles incredible and the shocks seem fine--especially with the miles. I have it due for an alignment check later next week. Rode in a friend's 99 M3 and his also produces the same road noise and has the same raised edges on the inboards of the front tires.
Is this a common problem with E36 M3s and can it be fixed? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

have the toe set near the maximum toe-in spec. the 'feather edging' and inside wear sound like it may be toed-out too much. the car will 'feel' more directionally stable toed-in but may loose a little 'turn-in' feeling. road noise is common on M-3's and other's with similar tire combo's

BE SURE TO HAVE A 'FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT'

Yea definitly check the toe-in and camber in the rear! Then get a four wheel alignment!
