I dont know that much about subs, so i thought i would ask you guys. What would be the best 10inch sub that runs from 300-400watts? And the best 12inch sub that runs from 300-400watts? I wont to know which one would thump the hardest. I have a weak amp but i dont want to buy another one.

You will probably be looking at a more SPL sub... Do you want a lot of clean hits to follow the music well, or a lot of loud boom? If you aren't willing to change the amp, are you willing to spend money on a box? I would suggest getting a SS, not the most accurate box, but good enough. Has a lot of power capability. www.powered4sound.com (http://www.powered4sound.com) . I really need to know how much you want to spend on box and sub, before I can recommend anything. A SS will take time to get there by the way, so you have to be willing to wait. you can't get a sub without knowing the amp...

I got a set of pioneer 12's and they're rated at 500W max but only need 150W nominal. I got them hooked up to a rockford fosgate mono amp (300Wrms x 1 @ 2 Ohms, 150Wrms x 2 @ 4 Ohms) and they hit really well, and i don't even have them at full output.

The subs cost around $130 Canadian /each
and the amp $300 Canadian

But every one has their own prefrences on subs

Maybe a kicker L5, not sure how well those work on 300rms though

I think you're going to want at least a 12 since you want deep, powerful bass.

definitely, 10's are a waste of money unless you're going for some kind of unique "show car" install IMO, same goes for 8's.

I'd avoid the pioneers... goto www.powered4sound.com (http://www.powered4sound.com) and look at the shop, they have combo deals on audiobahns... Althought I would suggest otheriwse

I found a couple more, but this time they are 12's. Tell me what you think.

I like this bazooka one.

Is it better to get a sub with a bigger magnet? or does it matter?

We can find you a sub... we just need some more info. I would suggest www.edesignaudio.com (http://www.edesignaudio.com/) www.adire.com (http://www.adire.com/) www.reaudio.com (http://www.reaudio.com/) or http://www.treoonline.com/

Pioneer=bazooka= not worth the money

Bigger magnet, yes. But that will make it more expensive.

Go with what Haibane is recommending.

i'd say the pioneer over the bazooka and the audiobahn, i don't know if that snail shell box is a good idea, i know its for sql, but i'd say a big sealed box would sound better, and if not, it's prolly be smaller than that damn snail shell, it looks huge...

and those elemental designs, adire's, and RE's that haibane suggested are much better than the pioneers
