Hey, some quick questions,
is Tamiya the only company who has produced a CA18 type 180SX??
Unlike many people I quite like the earlier style of the nose, and I'd like to model one (after I finish my DR30 and Gen Terasaki AE86 levin)....
Did fujimi ever make one?
And the Tamiya one is really basically an ebay only proposition nowadays, yeah?
One other thing, does the Tamiya one have engine bay detail? I guessed no?

No engine detail, Not sure about whether Fujimi made one (Hiroaki?:), So far, ebay is the best chance of finding one but there are other sources. Good luck!:)

No engine detail on this or the Silvia cousin kits.
I don't remember if the headlights were poseable...

I remember seeing the box while I was in California, but passed the deal because the car was I think $40 USD.
Here are some pictures off of Hobby Search, Fujimi Nissan 180SX (1989) (http://www.1999.co.jp/asp/GoodsDetails_e.asp?Bno=&Typ1_c=102&Typ2_c=106&Typ3_c=439&SPage=1&SC=4&SN=Search+result+Search+for+%3A+180sx&It_c=10026293&andor=0&scope=0&scope2=0&thumb=1&sortID=1&urikire=0&sort_sort=0&ItKey=180sx&app_url=KeyReference_right_e.asp).

wow i havent posted forever here.. i usually just browse.. but i got the tamiya kit from my LHS.. luckily cuz it's now OOP... but it is just curbside.. no engine detail.. but even the underside has the bottom of the "engine on it, but that's the sr20... but my 180 is in progress, going to be custom with a widebody kit, r33 skyline intercooler, xs tuning rims, and A LOT of stuff i havent even decided yet... i've been working on it off and on for about half a year now and im still not even close to being done the body.. and then i have the tamiya '71 skyline 2000 gtr kit to do, which is going to be straight out of the box.. and the tamiya kit does not have poseable headlights.. but mine us going to have sleepy eyes :iceslolan

Ah sweet, thanks guys.
I think I'll try and get the fujimi one.
I just have a thing for the CA18DET version, I like the look of it somehow... When I was working as a delivery driver in melbourne I used to see one every day at one of my drop points, silver, slammed suspension, 5 spoke 16" white nismo wheels, big exhaust (drift style)...Tough as!
