Hi, I am new to this site and to chevelles in general, I have found an all original 1971 ss 454 chevelle, 58000 original miles, original owner, 4 speed car. The car appears to be in pretty good shape, but in need of a resto. The car does run and the owner says he has the original paper work w/ the car. I am wondering what a reasonable offer for something like this would be. Also approximately what it would be worth completely restored. Any info on this or the car itself would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

This is a high dollar car if you have all of the right options. Is the car complete? Does it have the protecto plate? These all add up to big bucks Are you willing to dump 25 to 35K in the car to put it back perfect? What would it be worth to you if you do? What does the guy want for the car? If you get this for 5K to 10K you'd get a pretty good deal. Crawl under the car, look for rust, bring a buddy who knows cars if you don't and get his opinion. Do you want a daily driver or a show peice? Everything factors into the value.. If your thinking about doing a quickie restore and turning around and selling it I'd advise you not to do this. A true car guy will spot all of your short comings and mistakes and this will cost you money in the long run. You do it cheaply and people will notice.. Good luck and don't let the car slip through your fingers, there are several of us out there who'd love to get ahold of that year..
