2001 carvan lights on chime

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. I would like to just leave the lights switch on all the time and let the lights go off by themselves but the light-on reminder always dings when I shut off the car. Any idea of which wire to cut or what fuse to remove to disable this dinging feature? Thanks!

Don't cut any wires! There should be a small box that makes the nose under the dash, unplug it. If you change your mind or you get the wrong item you can put it back. Good luck.

OK, I removed the face place under the steering wheel. I still can not tell where the dinging is coming from. Can anyone describe the box that it is coming from and exactly what it is located next to... thanks so much. Does this dinging annoy anyone else?

It's in the Body control module, and you're making a big mistake. And big money. Your dealer can disable the noise, but then the seatbelt warning, low fuel and warning chimes will also not function. And you really do want to know when these lights go off!

leave your lights on. shut the van off(remove key)... turn off the lights.... the lights stay on for 60-90 seconds.... unlock your house door, go in your house. Forget-about-it....:)

If you leave the lights on, and don't turn them off, the parking lights will stay on, and, in about a day, your battery will be dead. :(

Thanks slantsix. My van's lights eventually go off even when the switch is left in the on position after I turn off the van. Thought it would have been nice just not to have to jack with the switch every time. My Maxima has this "auto off" feature and it is nice. I may still try and pull the plug on the body control module you speak of. I don't really need the idiot reminders tones.
