What you want to go for is usually ballbearing, although ive seen alot of mr2's with t3/t4 setup. The most important thing for a turbo is spool time and a ballbearing is worth the money.

Before anyone could recommend a turbo, they would need to know what yo uwant your turbo to do.
What kind of driving/racing do you want out of it?
What are your goals?

Most MR2s are not running ballbearing turbos, it is hardly a necessary requirement.
Again, the size/type of turbo you want is going to depend on what kind of horespower you want, what kind of power band ... what kind of racing you do.
A great drag racing turbo would make for an awful autocross turbo.

Just curious, but what would you consider a good upgrade for a drag racing turbo? I would like to suit my car up for street drag racing and was curious about turbo upgrades as well.

If you do not care about lag and just want top end power (i.e. drag racing), you are going to want somethiung huge like a GReddy T67 or even a T78 ... or GT30 or GT35.
Talk to Aaron at ATSRACING.NET ... tell him I sent you :) He'll know what you will need (And what you need to run it properly).

HAHAHA HYDE i see you are already starting promote your sponsor. LOL
Ive been away for a bit so dont mind me if im unearthing an old post.
Back to the subject, i am a auto crossing fan and although i ve never done before (and i plan to this summer) i am all about control and spool time, hyde has a good point about the types of turbos to get. But like i said, for me, it is always about spool time.

I would say a nice kit to get would be a T3/4 or a GT30. I know people who have both kits and they are both in the 11's. :)

But only one of us could also be competitive in SCCA Solo 2 Autocrosses and SCCA Solo 1 Hill Climbs ;)
... again, you need to ask yourself waht you want from your turbo.
A properly set up GT30 turboed MR2 should be extremely deep into the 10s not playing around in the 11s.
