Hehe, I'll use my friend's digi (it takes great vids) and then I can host the file on my server for the whole world to see!
I'm guessing those Sony's are single 4ohm?
Lets see, plug one into a wall outlet...that's a 60hz "test tone" at around 3600 watts, think the "1200 watt" Sony's could take it?

900 watts a piece?
They might be able to take it thermally for atleast a couple seconds, I'd have to stick them in a box though to keep the spider and surround from ripping to shreds though, lol

Hm....wire the 12A to 1 ohm and bridge the amp to it?
Pick axe?
Throw it out of a moving vehicle?
All of the above?

Larebear... just stop while you are behind. I have 1400 watts and a single 15" Resonant engineering sub in a 4 cube ported box with 35hz tuning that says you can take that system and shove it. Sony is the epitome of crap in the car audio buisness. I am sorry you got screwed over money wise. I have spent well over a couple 1000 on my car audio. I got screwed over the first time. Learn sell get something decent. Just cause we want to watch it fry in the wall doesn't mean you should get mad at us. Have you ever seen a sub melt? or smelt an electrical fire? Good stuff.

Another difference is mine is rated RMS, I don't look at PEAK. Sony is rated at peak. Reality is the rms of that is about 400 each speaker. the amp probably does about 600 rms and will probably push those things to their limit. They don't get loud, I have heard the high end of them. Been to many competitions. They don't sound good. Get a pair of decent SQ speakers. RF and Audiobahn are even better than Sony.

Ahh...now thats comedy. I think I would take the LEDs off the amp...thats about it.

06-07-2004, 06:43 AM
haha, well if we can't decide what to do with the amp, how about we just buy the speakers; we're up to 6 people (including myself) who would be willing to pitch in to see those subs go :p that should be more than enough $
Haibane
06-07-2004, 09:52 AM
6x20=120 for the subs, yeah can we just get those subs for 120 total. VTcommo, what is so gay about this convo

you guys are too funny. Sometimes you have to be careful of what you buy, and how much you pay for it
LareBear

I paid 250 for the speakers in box.

I am sorry... Seriously, not meant to be mean or anything. If everyone is willing to pay... and seriously will do it, I am in. And if you will send it to sr20. I think we should all send our cash to sr20 and then go from there
sr20de4evr
06-09-2004, 10:36 PM
haha, if you guys really want to pay to watch a video of some speakers frying I'll do it
I'm really surprised so many people want to pay $20+ to watch it. You can find videos of subs frying all over the net for free
