Camaro LT1 or Caprice LT1?

I like both cars a lot but i think i would rather have a Caprice 9c1 with basically the same LT1 as the Camaro,Firebird, and Corvette. Caprice's and the similar impala ss are more comfortable. With little mods, you can convert a caprice to an impala. The impala ss is a bad ass car and has the classic muscle car look to it.
What do you guys think?

You can do all you want to a caprice to make it look like an impala ss but the impala has the nicely shaped rear windows beside the back doors that the caprice doesnt have. Thats always a dead giveaway there, when theres a big window instead of the smaller one with the impala emblem.

b body lt1 have less compression than the f body lt1(10.0:1 compared to 10.5:1). they also have better flowing iron heads instead of the aluminum F and Y body heads. Be sure to check the RPO for the LT1 and not the L99. The L99 looks like an LT1 but is a 4.3L V8 (3.74" bore and 3" stroke).

it might have a higher compression ratio but they make about the same power and torque.

Not true. The Aluminum head one was rated anywhere from 275-315hp and 325-342ft-lbs in F bodies, and From 275-300hp and 330-340ft-lbs on the Corvettes. (These Ratings incluse ALL LT1 equipped f and Y bodies I am aware of as GM advertised them). The B body LT1 was rated at 260hp and 330ft-lbs.

Stock Rear Wheel Dyno Numbers on the Impala/Caprice were USUALLY around 220 RWHP & 280 RWTQ. Stock F bod LT1's were USUALLY over 250 RWHP and 300 RWTQ. (I am sure you can fine Higher or Lower Numbers for each car.)

The Heads were not the Only Difference, Just the main Difference I was pointing out. The B body also had a smaller cam. Here are some comparisons:

F/Y car
Heads: Aluminum
Cam/valve lift specs: .450/.460 (int/exh)
Valve springs: 268 lb/in
Valve spring od: 1.300"
Valve spring inst ht: 1.78"
MAF id: 3.5"

B car
Heads: Cast-iron
Cam/valve lift specs: .417/.429 (int/exh)
Valve springs: 393 lb/in
Valve spring od: 1.241"
Valve spring inst ht: 1.70"
MAF id: 3.25"
