My interior vent fan speed control only works on 3rd and 4th position. Won't work on lower 2 speeds! Help! What could be wrong?? Fuse..switch?? Costly repair??
thanks

inside the switch they're are wire resistors to determine how much voltage to give the fan to control how fast it spins. they should be inside the switch.

If the Calalier is the same as most other GM Products you will need an new fan resistor. They are available at the GM Dealer for about $20. Find the fan in your car and the resistor should be located very close to it. Once you replace the resistor the fan will run on all speeds. If you have a mechanic do it should take about half an hour to replace.

Thanks for the response. What does the resistor look like. Color size, shape when I find it??

It has a quick connect plug on the end and is rectangular on the bottom. Will have a foam seal around it. Usually the wires coming out of the bottom are red and black it is held in by two screws.
