96 Le Power lock problem

Ok i just bought a used 96 LE. Got it home and started to test out everything. Just to my luck when i was testing it out i only tested the passanger side power doors. The side power door locks works. But the driver's side doesn't. I got out the car and tried locking it manually with the key and it does work on the driver's side but on the passager side it works. This is very od. I need power door locks to work. Now the question is, is this just simple wiring issues or is it something more then that.

Also i have an alarm question. This car was equiped with an alarm but the guy didn't have a remote i guess. There is a switch under the steering wheel on the ride side that i can turn on and off the alarm. But is this suppose to be normal?

Over all should i get a generic alarm installed or would it be cheaper to go to the dealership and ask for a quote on how much it would cost to adjust this. Also If i get a generic alarm would that fix the door issue if i get the keyless entry?

The alarm is probably an aftermarket system already. The description of the door locks is a little confusing, but if all of the power locks work except for one it's probably the actuater in the door. This won't be fixed with the alarm.

Can this be fixed by anyone or should it be a toyota dealer

Well i'll restate the whole lock thing just to aviod any confusion.

When i use my key on the driver side. Only the driver side unlocks. But when i use my key on the passager side all doors are unlocked. When i push my lock/unlock button on the driver's side panel nothing happens. But on the passager side the unlock/lock works fine. I don't know if it was aftermarket or not. But the alarm speaker thing is under the hood. The kill switch is right under the steering wheel to the left.

It is usually an easy fix. My guess that the car was repaired at one time and they didn't plug the dr. door harness back in. The alarm sure sounds like aftermarket to me.

Well i took a look at the alarm i couldn't really see any branding on it at all. All i saw was a model number. The car was repaired, but it was done by toyota themself. I personally don't want to fix this problem myself, i guess i'll just take it to an alarm specialist near my school since i'm going there for a remote anyways maybe they can fix it as well if i explain everything to them

ok update on this crap. I really very very annoyed.

So i started to play with that switch under my steering wheel. I turned it on and left. So the car armed itself. So afterwards like all the other times before i just stick the key in the igination and everything is fine. This time the engine didn't start. So i was like all freaked out. Now i turned off my alarm from under the hood switched the alarm on in order to get my car to stop. It took me 2 hours to figure this out.

This is crap. Oh and weird thing is now when i turn off my car and what not, the emergecy lights blink but the whole car is off and i didn't push the hazard button.
