Are the front end's the same? When I look at pics all the camero's look the same, and my neighbor had one or the other. He might sell it and if he does I might buy it, for a car just to modify and stuff, but I would only buy it if it looked better then my other friends 69.

69's nose is a little pointyer (if that's a word)

yeah, its all personal taste, but the front end is where the major differences are, the 69 is pretty much agreed to be more attractive, and the car overall better looking than the 67 or 68 years. but there are people who preferr those, as they were somewhat smaller, not by much though. id hit up the internet, try www.cars-on-line.com and go to the camaro section, and look at pics of the camaros from each year. get a feel for yourself.

i think the 68 has the fliping around lights, not pop up, i seen it on powerblock tv, yearone.com was the owner of that black 68.
89IROC&RS
05-12-2004, 09:35 PM
eh? camaros never had pop up headlights, and the motorised headlight covers were on all the RS models, at least 68 or 69, dont know about 67.

i didnt say pop up...read it again, but i thought i seen it maybe with cover or those motorized headlamps on tv, maybe you can find it on yearone.

so are these the motorized headlamps, or just covers?
89IROC&RS
05-12-2004, 09:45 PM
just covers, and i think the earlier ones were vacume operated. all they do is slide out of the way. headlights are hard mounted behind them.

68 and 69 RS were vacuum operated. 67 RS had electric motors.
1967 and 68 look the same.
1967 has vent windows in the doors and has round turn signal lights in the grill.
1968 has marker lights in the fenders and has square looking signal lights in the grill.
Other than that 67 and 68 are the same car.
1969 got a whole new look. different quarter panels, fenders, front lower valance panel, doors, and rear valance panel... 67, 68 ,and 69 take the same hood, trunk lid, and upper valance panel. 67 and 68 doors will interchange, but you will have to swap over the vent windows.

I've got a 68 and a 69 and my buddy restores them for a living. Let me see if I can summarize....
The 67 and 68 body's were the same with only subtle differences. The lights were slightly different (i.e. 68 tailights were divided). Also, in 1968 the government required side markers (67 has no side markers). The biggest difference that people notice right away is that the 67 has wing vent windows, where the 68 does not. Overall, most of the sheetmetal is interchangeable.
69 Camaros are quite a bit different. The wheel openings are flattened out on top instead of round and there are body lines from the top of the front and rear fenders extending back. The 69 also has a flatter, wider body style then 67/68.
Last item....the hidden headlight feature (called RS or Rally Sport) was available on 67-69. In 67, they used electric motors. 68-69 used a vacuum system (that sucks...mine still gives me problems). Also, the headlight doors for 1969 included clear windows, but 67-68 were solid plastic.
Hope this helps!

most powerful of the years averaged, id have to say 69, because they got the ZL1, Z28, and the big block SS, while the other years had mostly small blocks, and regular big blocks. but pretty much i think the years were even power wise. oh and the RS was available with a V8 up to the fourth gen camaros and firebirds. the difference between the RS and SS were drastic. heres my little breakdown.
Camaro - 6 cyl economy version of the car, respectable performance for what was powering it, good gas mileage, very practical, classy transportation
RS - was a sporty uplevel from base camaro, looked good on cruise night, had all the creature comforts, was easy and fun to drive, but wasnt really a street terror even though you could build one with some balls (aka RS/SS or my favorite Z28/RS)
SS - was the big dog, with optional big block chevy power, serious drivetrains, 12 bolt rears, ment for strait line racing, street racing, that kinda stuff.
Z28 - was the street legal road course racecar. performance suspension, fast steering, high winding high power small block, nasty street manners, and much happier going 120 than 20 mph.
thats kinda the simplistic way of looking at the available options.

Straight 6 I mean there are 6 cylinders in a row. When you say cubic inches or engien code is that what engines are named by? I thought it was only cubic inches like 454 or 502. Anyways, yeah cubic inches please, and the specs would be nice too. Please excuse my ignorance, I'm still new to this.

67s had elec H/L, 68&69 had vac. 67s were the only year to have wing windows, 68s had side marker lights,67s did not. All three years used many of the same body parts like, hood, trunk, ect. The interiors changed quite a bit in each year though.
