Specifications on 1999 GTR-34 ?

I have been hearing alot of different spec numbers on the 1999 GTR34. Can anybody tell me what the 0-60, 1/4 mile, and top speed, etc? Don't bitch at me if this subject has been covered before, I'm new to the site and anyways this is a f***ing forum you're supposed to ask question! Anyways any info on the 99 GTR34 would help me out alot.

0-60 in 5.2 seconds
1/4 mile in 13.7 seconds @ 103 mph
top speed is 155 mph

Are those the specs for a V-Spec I, V-spec II, or just the base model? Which one is faster and why?

base model. the vspecs are faster because they are tuned models. the vspec to the skyline is what si is to the civic. performance upgrades.

The V-Specs will only be faster around a racetrack, because they are not tuned for more power. V-Specs have a more advanced ATTESSA system, Super HICAS, stiffer suspension, and on some model years a carbon fiber hood to reduce weight. None of this will make a real difference in the 0-60 time, very miniscule of a difference maybe in the quarter mile, but maybe a second or two off of a road course time.

the 0-60mph for a r34 skyline GTR is 4.9 seconds.

thats od though, i could swear i read somewhere that the R34's do the 1/4 in 13.1secs and the R32's do them in 13 secs flat. the variance of 0.7secs is quite large.
If a GTR34 only does the 1/4 in 13.7 secs then why all the hype about the GTR??? i mean a $5000 camaro with barely any modification can run 13.7secs so thats why i can't believe the R34 runs 13.7 in the 1/4mile.

Hey this might sound a little bit off the topic and kinda stupid, but what's better: a skyline GTR R33 or a skyline 25GT R34??

Well some r34 2.5's yes others no a 1997 r33 gtr will probly beat 1998 r34 2.5 gt-t How ever the 2001-02 models come with even more hp supposidly
The original hp was 245 on the r34 2.5 gt-T model with the turbo the n,a version only has 215. Now the 02+ are putting out about 260-270 almost as much as a 1999 r34 gtr (not v spec).How ever an 02 r34 gt-t vs a 95 or 96 is a joke.

Anyways free up the intake and exhaust, boost to 1 bar and the car is in the mid 12's yet will happily go around corners faster and stop a hell of a lot faster. We could add some water on the road surface to make things a bit more interesting too :iceslolan

Hell yea rain makes things that much more fun.

The R34s were a big step up from the R33s in terms of build quality and interior furnishings. Sitting in a GTT you know you're in a nice car - brushed aluminium, red stitching... class all the way. A GTR is even better.

The R33s were released in 1993 - and the GTR shares many of the interior parts of the GTS-t - so even a late model R33 GTR will look similar to a (now 11 year old) GTS-t. Lots of plastic and mid-90's style - compared to the new-millenium look of the 34.

However... looking past this - pitting the performance of a GTR against a GTT all comes to a head when you turn a corner. The GTT's are fast stock (R's are faster - no matter what year), but the handling and response of an R is much more advanced than it's skinny-body siblings and cousins.

Although similarly priced, an early R33 GTR is a very different car to an R34 GTT - which one is better comes to personal preference. You can cruise in modern luxury and hang the back out in a T with no trouble - but the R just goes hard where-ever you point it - plastic airvents don't seem to matter then. Loads of fun both ways... so each to their own.

BTW: The 33 was never a 'step down' - the 32 was groundbreaking - 10 years later the 34 was a refined sportscar. Somewhere in the middle was the 33 - yes it's a bit fatter than the 32, and not as smooth as a 34... but by golly they're a fantastic car.

Either way they are amazing machines, but even though the r34 has a bit more weight than the r33 but with less mass, the r33 ATTESSA systems were tuned differently, giving the rear wheels a bit more power than the front, where as the r32s and r34s directed 100% of the torque evenly between the 4, only directing more power to a certain wheel when it began to slip.

Now you're talking ! I love the wet. I really like seeing 2wd cars trying to get power down, well usually I don't get to see much of them lmao.
