This one's bond to be contraversial:
Ford GT-40 Concept
500hp
500lbs-ft
3000+lbs
'04 Corvette C6 Z06
450+hp
425+lbs-ft
2700-2900lbs
'03 Viper
500hp
500lbs-ft
3300lbs
'04 Porsche 911T
475hp
425lbs-ft
3200lbs
what do you guys think...what will be the fastest, assuming they produce the GT-40. The #'s on the GT-40 and the Viper are pretty sure things, the C6 #'s are pretty close, accroding to insiders, and the 911 # are just guesses. feel free to correct my #'s if you have any info on any of them

GT-40, 40=40 inches roof to ground. Has as much hp as any other car wieghs the least and with only 40 inches of the ground is probably gonna out handle the rest and the aerodynamics will just cut the air. I think it is a lil unfair to have it in thier. It isbased completely on a car whose only reason on a street every was so ford could run it in a cerian race class that required street models back in the 60's

it's a lil unfair to have a car that's not even on the market compete with the rest. sure you have those numbers, but you can't tell until there's been a legitimate road test on it. i do hope ford produces the gt40, it looks like damn fast car. but it's very hard to speculate when there's no production car available. look at the prowler, everyone expected it to be this great roadster, but its acceleration is disappointing and its handling is terrible. it has the look of a great roadster, but that's about it. the gt40 looks promising but until there has been a real road test on one, you can't really say it'll outperform any of the other cars listed.

That GT40 wont have those kind of number if it actually goes into production. I think the real winner will probably be the Viper by just a hair over the others.

I was acutally comparing the future cars...when the Z06 will weigh the least, gain 50+hp, and the Viper will have 500hp 500ft-lbs. Is that what you guys where comparing or the current with the GT-40?

ZO6, it'll probably be the best overall but the GT40 will probably be a little bit faster.

news flash... gt40 is not 40 inches tall... it's close, but taller... read some mag articles on it... the orig was 43 inches, so they rounded it to 43... this one is taller than that...
i would still pick the gt40 out of these, if anything, b/c it is mid engine exotica style...
then the zo6...

As far as everything I read a GT-40 was 40 inches tall. I saw an original race prepped one at a car show and it had a measuring stick next to it that read 40 inches. So maybe they all lied i dunno. As far as the new 1 i don't think it will be 40 at the roof but probably pretty dam close. That's a lot lower than the rest listed and with mid engine it would be tought to ruin the handling. As for the fastest I figure it will get short changed after it goes into production like always. But as far as the numbers stated in the magazine articles and without a road test. I'd still have to say the GT-40 would be the best.
