I fooled around with my '82 toyota, but it's not like I went to a parking lot or anything and just tried to oversteer. The Renault I currently own can go pretty sideways with left-foot braking, but it lacks the "natural" oversteer that my toyota had.

I tried it with my SpecV... I was going really fast and E-Braked it way too hard and spun-out....I don't like it much (FF drifting) but I stand by those that do! FF is fun in ice, snow, and gravel though! Try it!

just a warning. the second this thread gets out of hand, it's locked. keep it civil, and if you have nothing constructive to add to the topic, don't bother posting.
on topic: yes, i used to fool around in the snow and dry with my '91 Chevy Corsica winter beater that i had last year. i could get that thing pretty sideways, and have actually got video of it, but don't know where to host it.

My buddy Derek and I created an oversteering autocross monster out of a $500 Geo Storm. Fiddled around with the rear toe, ran self-shaved tires (cheapo Falkens, as I recall), tightened up the hand-brake cable to take out the slack, ran about 5 extra pounds of air pressure, zeroed out the rear camber, and welded up our own strut tower braces.
We could whip that thing around on its nose no problem, and it was a lot of fun to sling it around sideways in the school parking lot after everyone had left.
But, we have since moved on. I'm fiddling with Weber carburetors and ANSA headers on MG's and he's dropping SR20DET's into 240SX's.

Like hell.
If she does receive an engine transplant (which will be if I decide I don't want to pay for an aluminum cross-flow cylinder head) the engine will be an aluminum block V8 ranging in size somewhere between 215ci and 410ci.
I am not paying for a new engine to only gain 200cc's of displacement.

Do you have a cross flow head, LK? Just curious.

Wish I did, but the cheapest one I've found is from Brittek.com at around $1,800 bare, $2,100 assembled.
And then there's the cost of intake manifold, linkages, carbs.......
Honestly, it's a whole lot of effort. Though the prospect of 200hp out of my little OHV 1800cc four is pretty cool.

woah, I just noticed you already said you didn't in your above post. Sorry.
I'd go with the cross flow. I mean, try resisting temptation to spend an extra $1500 while plopping the aluminum V8 in there... A Sebring/Lemans clone GT with a cross flow head? That just about makes me wet. Do you have the 'C' hood/grill yet? Or the headlamp covers?
You'd murder me if you saw the '67 GT somebody bought from the shop I hang out at for $4k. It was PERFECT. To this day I hate myself for not buying either that or the Mini cooper 'S' that was in there.

Well, I decided a while back that I will be getting the "Sebring" fenders for Layla. And, for the record, the car you're thinking of is the MGC GTS, which actually was not a factory works car at Le Mans but in road rallies and at Sebring in 1967.
The works Le Mans MGB's were the infamous "droop snout" cars.
http://home-1.concepts.nl/~evrck/racing/MGLM63.jpg
I will go for Sebring fenders, a Costello hood, and probably ProperMG's rallye style air dam as far as appearance mods. If I go the crossflow route, I'll also work in the Moss Motorsports Roots Supercharger kit for MG's. 250-270hp in an MGB sounds like a good number.

Hi this is just a quick poll:
Has anone tried to drift in a FF car?
And if So do tell about your experience.
I myself have done it once or twice in my 97DSM
I've got an 92 MX-3 GS it drift's almost anywhere in any weather.. and it's all stock... well with a 70f/30r weight ratio, and the majority of the brakepower is in the rear with no ABS *brakes aren't always needed* but I can drift my car pretty easily... can't hold it long, but that's because I use the load shift to drift not that handbrake (sidebrake) BS!

i tried it a couple times in my hatch but doesn't really work well...as far as drifting w/o using the e-brake....found it hard to loose traction in my rear tires....but i actually began to loose traction in my rear wheels once while taking a clover leaf type exit...was odd b/c it never happened b4 but it happened that time when i had a passenger...was odd was gonna try it again but i'm not one to try that type of stuff with a passenger on public roads

no rubbin in my face, I can easly drift my MX-3 under the MX-3 forums I have my how to guide to drift my car, if any FF drifters want to check it out. There are many diffrent ways to get it to overstear, the method I describe has been the fastest method in my experence. I've personaly cut down on driftin because I've had to replace tires annualy for 2 years:2cents:, and I got other things to pay for so I've cut down myself, besides after this car is done I'm going to make a Renissis FC3S RX-7 :sunglasse

Well...done tray under the rears w/ ebrake. 1 time i did "drift" when I had my escape I was driving my friends home, zoned out then realised my friend's street was coming up massed the brake and yanked the wheel car slid sideways but there was an on coming car so I massed the brake instead of the gas.

Well the way I drift is the Inertia Drift, also it'll be 3 to 5 years before I get the 7 so I'm sure by then someone would have gotten into a wreck with an RX-8 by then, and there will be more replacment parts for them by then, should be anyway....
