heel and toe or not bother...?

I'm struggling with this. I have been practising it on my car for a few months but I can't consistently match the engine revs to road speed when downshifting and I sometimes get it right, but a lot of times I either over-rev the engine or don't give it enough gas. I've been reading about how some bikers now don't bother blipping the throttle when downshifting and just simply feather the clutch out gently and they say it works really well. I'm just wondering if this would be a bad idea on a car since the transmission on bikes are much different to cars in terms of operation and quality. Anyone?

Heel and toe is definitely quicker than normal downshifting and wears the clutch less, but if you find that the rev matching is difficult then it may be faster just to shift normally rather than bungle h/t... still, keep practising.

practice straight line rev matching first. like, cruise along at 40mph in 4th, then clutch in, shift to 3rd, blip the throttle to match revs, and clutch out. If done correctly, the car won't lurtch, lunge, or do anything to suggest a downshift has occured except that the engine is louder. Pratice this especially while in traffic, or just cruising along. shift between 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd. whatever, just get it tto the point where its smooth. AND THEN, try the maneuver while braking IN A STRAIGHT LINE. adding the toe on the brake, and using the heel to blip. and then, after mastering those two things, add steering around a corner.
