The GTO was quite impressive but it seemed a lil' clumsy around the corners. Rhys still has awhile to become accustomed to his car... not bad for a Domestic.

I like the color scheme used on his GTO, its not as overwelming as like the apex FD or Ueo's AE86(I think thats the one I'm thinking of). I just like when the car is a little more plan and easy on the eyes... not that has anything to do with how well they compete

Can't argue that the man has a game plan. I like that he's building a second car for a teammate.

Not to mention I love his statement "We'd love to have Ford get involved. They have [the RWD-Focus] and the new Mustang coming out. In doing that it leads to a grassroots level; we'll be at a professional level, but then you'll have an amateur wanting to get involved at a grassroots level. There are so many older vehicles that you can build a drift car for a reasonable entry-dollar figure.".

Methinks he's bucking for some GM versus FoMoCo rivalry. Nothing like that to stir up interest.

It would be interesting to see the FOCUS-RS get in the mix! It can be converted to RWD from AWD easily! They are good, light cars in Rally/WRC and should be a blast in Drifting...

A: The Focus RS is a front-wheel drive Ford of Britain only model of Focus. It's not AWD.

B: This is the Focus they were talking about.

Isn't the AWD WRC Focus RS car AWD? I coulda sworn I read the production model was AWD also...?

Wouldn't that huge V8 throw off the weight distribution on such a light car in drifting though?

isn't it called a cosworth..or atleast in Rally challenge game it is and its AWD

The Focus had lousy weight distribution to begin with, as most all front-wheel drive cars do. Transverse engine mounting more or less puts the engine right on the front axle line. With the V8, more weight is placed further back behind the front axle line, and better weight distribution is achieved.

The Cossie Focuses were more or less the kit cars for privateers.

And perfect weight distribution isn't always good for drifting. Typically, you'd want a slightly unbalanced chassis.

I hope they keep the price below 30k. I mean,

Focus+v8 does not equal 40k...

The GTO is about as "domestic" as the Millen family.
Have a read of this: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=170703

Thats a very cool article, its interesting to note that he views drifting purly as a form of entertianment, and as a viable bussiness opertunity.
And given the Millen familys history of success, if he's allowed any input into the future of drifting in the US then it can only contiune to become more and more popular.

the GTO is considered by many to be domestic, but its made in Australia, the Nissan Titan is called an import and its made in the USA, funny funny stuff, oh and thanks for the interview!!!!
