or is it just me? :dunno:

Well, not down, completely, but VERY slow to load, including the context sensitive ads on the AF pages, too.

Works fine for me too. AF loads normally since I first logged on. It might be your internet server.

Same. Works good but that's on 56k so it might be really bad for you.

Iread somewhere today that Google is being upgraded to fend off competition from Yahoo....maybe it's related.

Competition from Yahoo? Isn't Yahoo powered by Google?

Yahoo and Google had a split.

Yahoo says it will run its own search engine from now on. Thing is, Yahoo has about 20-30 million sites bookmarked. Google has about 1 billion(?). Either way, Yahoo is gonna get creamed.

Also, besides Google, I use Metacrawler.com, which is a meta search engine. With one search, you'll be searching most of the major search engines. Metacrawler searches Google, Yahoo, AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, About, LookSmart, Overture, and FindWhat all at once.

Dogpile is also an example of a meta search engine.

I used to use YAHOO, but when GOOGLE was introduced to me...I used GOOGLE from then on. Results are better and faster.

Google rules all!!!

The main attraction to Google for me was how simple and basic it was, at least a few years ago. The main page took like a micron of a second to load up cause there was nothing to it, instead of being a huge page like Yahoo is.

Unfortunately Google is getting bigger and more crap filled...if it gets too complicated I may switch over to Altavista...it used to be all complex but they've kinda followed Google's lead and simplified.
