1996 2.6L 4-cyl in need of new thermostat

I would love it if someone could tell me where the thermostat is located and how to get to it. Thanx a bunch.

I have the factory service manual for the 1995.5. If your model is the same it is located on the intake manifold. The upper radiator hose connects to a "water outlet pipe" located on the intake manifold. It is attached with 2 bolts which face towards the front of the vehicle. Remove the outlet pipe and the thermostat is right behind it. The torque to reinstall the 2 bolts is listed at 18 ft/lbs.
