Mass air flow sensor

I have a 91 Probe GT and was wondernig if there was any way to get past the mass air flow sensor so that I can put a better intake on it.

yes they sell them on Ebay the adaptors and cone filters

BTW its not a MAF its a VAF maf wasn't used till 93
