Where to Drift.

Now we all want to be able to drift on a racetrack whenever we want but for some people, this is out of reach. The thing is whenever drifting is discused, people always say 'oh and make sure to keep it off the street'. Now this spells certain doom for any driver who wants to get better at driftin, as many people dont live near tracks.
Now personally, i dont think it is fair to put people in danger, so i try not to do anything on public roads; i usually go to a empty parking lot near the old Bradlees. But not everyone can do this.
What im trying to say is that we have mostly everything we need to drift; we got the cars, the parts, the know-how, and (some of us) the balls to pull of this shit. But we dont really have a place to do it.
So what do we do? Keep it in parking lots, or lobby for a track or somethin?

yea no track here either... well there is a track but its a road coarse that is not offered to the public even though it only gets used like 3 times a year... it has a drag strip next to it and you can go there once a month and take unlimited runs for 10 bucks... but yet no road coarse *sigh* the pain

Try to join a drift club. The will arange events at empty parking lots. If you can not do that just find empty lots with very little poliece presence and go nuts.
Keep it off the streets tho. And if you must make sure that it is on VERY secluded streets. Empty parkades at big malls work good.. Thats where i learned. Park Royal shoping center in West Vancouver, and various other lots around vancouver.

I go to my local high school for drifting, but not in the parking lot, I do it on the grass, tyres are expensive.

But you have to admit, most n00bs get scared or panic when they feel there car sliding sideways, this will let them get use to the feeling.
Besides, it'll be a good shot back at the school when they see there lawn has tire tracks everywhere. :naughty:

Did I ever once...ONCE say I was a great drifter? I think I even stated in at least one thread that I was not all that great even after two years of drifting! I don't think it's necessary to call names either! Obviously your one of thoses immature kids that SCREW up drifting for the rest of us by killing people or yourselves by trying to perfom a drift.

Sorry for being anal, but some of us aren't so lucky as to have a real drift car and\or nearby tracks to practice on.
And none of that namecalling or shit, that just makes you look like a retard yourself.

the answer is simple! Come to canada, were the roads are covered with snow half of the year, and enjoy it!!! There are a lot of twisty rural roads here, so it really is paradise!
Btw, thats how most rally pilots learn you know, have you notified most of them came from northen countries?
btw, watch out about parking lot, because if you get too sideway, you could flip over!!
Trust me, it happened to me :p (but I wasnt the driver)
