since the f-612 is the replacement for the f-456, i wanted to see what other people think of the "replacing" job done by ferrari.

personally, i love the new f-612. especially better than the 456 cuz the 456 never really got my blood rushing as fast as other ferrari's do. i love the lines of the 612 and it has grown in engine size and performance too. just think about it, taking four people going 190 (i know weight will affect it, but for the fun of it, think about it).

There still are no 'stone' facts on the new car. Not even an actual photography, just computer generated drawings. So I'll have to wait until I see and read the first couple of magazine tests.

ferrari unveiled the f-612 at the international auto show at detroit. the photos are at ferrari's official website and all over the news on the internet. here is the link to the ferrari website with the pics http://www.ferrariworld.com/cgi-bin/fworld.dll/ferrariworld/scripts/events/scaglietti/scaglietti_home.jsp

As far as looks go, the 456 wins hands down... the 612 is poor in the styling department. What were they thinking?

While i have no doubt the 612 will be a better performer than the 456, it lacks the effortless elegance that makes the 456 the ultimate gent's express.

Imo, Ferrari's styling got as far as it could in the mid 90's with the F355 and the 456; their new efforts are too edgy, though some are still good looking.

yes, their 90's styling is one of the best especially with the f-50. but what makes 00's good is the f-360. imo, that is the best looking ferrari ever. i still say that the 612 looks much better than the 456.

please mr. payne. are you doing that just to get more posts cuz you did the same thing in the porsche gt3 vs. gt2 thread (meaning all you did was put the car). please back up your opinion, that would be better and make you not look like a post whore. all that imo.

i like the new look and style of the 612. it isnt just the run of the mill car that lookes like about three others. i do also like the look of the 456, but imo it all comes down to performance

I actually like the looks of the new Scaglietti. Its true it doesn't look that good in pictures but I really likes its looks on video.

IMO video gives you a better ideea of how a car looks.

Haven't driven either of them (Suprisingly, seeing how old the 456 is) But the 456 wins the styling deparmtent trophy for sure!

I absolutely agree. I havent seen any vids of the 612, i imagine they had to get John Woo to make it look half-good :p

go there....under the pics of the 612 you'll find "Video highlights of this vehicle" click on it :)

they could not get John Woo so they had to settle for Spielberg;)

Thanks for the link.. my opinion is still unchanged; its a decent looking car but far from a work of art.
Maybe if they get John Woo to shoot the car in action instead of Spielberg's sedate footage it'll look a little better ;)

The 456 was a far better looking car than the new 612 IMO. And, I have to agree with the earlier post about the 355 and 456. Every Ferrari done since then has been a step back in looks IMO.

The 456 is the best looking four seat Ferrari ever IMO, and one of the best looking front engines Ferraris ever done whatever the seat count. The 355 might be the best looking mid engine car Ferrari has ever done period. I am no Ferrari guy, but if I was to find myself looking for a used exotic in the 60-80 thousand dollar range, I would give the 355 serious consideration.

yes, in the under-100,000 dollar range, the 355 is the best mid-engine car around. the main reason i like the 612 better than the 456 is cuz the hood on the 456 is to plain compared to the 612 imo. and i like the sides better on the 612 than the 456.
