1987 ignition problem

Hi! New here, but frustrated. I'm dinking with a 1987 car that isn't sparking. The owner bought a replacement module (the part under the coil packs) from a boneyard, and the car fired then ran for about two minutes, then it died again, and again no spark. Rather than start dropping dollars on guesstimating and parts-swapping, I'm hoping maybe somebody here might know what might be cooking the module.

Thanks!

Well it could just be a defective module used parts are like a crap shoot. Another possiblility is a crank sensor.

The crank sensor was replaced already. The car ran fine on the second module for about two minutes, then died again, never to spark thereafter. The dash diagnostic is flashing a code 12- no power to the module. I'm thinking that something before the module is cooking it, because there IS power going to the module.

Thank you for your resonse, I appreciate any help I can get with this dog.
