A well done example of any 60's muscle car will meet all of your criteria except for one: it'll be quite expensive.

kinda thought that, waht is 'relatively inexpensive' for a muscle car? i would want it to maybe be some thing of a project so it does not have to be in perfect shape.
If you are going to dream u better dream big.

If you want a first rate muscle car, 454 Chevelle or Hemi Dodge, well look at $30K + just for a project. If you can live with a more widely available one, like a run of the mill GTO, or a 383 Dodge or a small block Chevelle, well look at $5 - 10K.
If you seriously want to be cheap and fast, try something less popular. Get a V8 AMC, like a Hornet or Gremlin. They are fast and light, and cheap because they're ugly and unpopular. Swap in an AMC 390 or 401 and you will have the fastest grandma car in the country.
Alternately, try a '60's luxury car, like a Grand Prix, or a 67-70 Thunderbird, or Riviera. They all came with muscle car engines that can really go when tuned right. They just weigh about 300-400 pounds more than a real muscle car.
If you can handle something a little newer, try a late '70s to late '80s GM intermediate 2 door like a Cutlass, Regal, Grand Prix or Monte Carlo. Get a Chevy V8 version, and swap in a hot 350. They are cheap to build and pretty fast.
My suggestion? Save your pennies, do your research and get your dream car. You will be happier in the long run.

I've got both a 69 Firebird convertible with a 400 and a 72 Camaro with a 350. Both those cars fit your criteria in a $10-$20 grand price range. The big question to you is cost. As others have said if you want a restored hemi car plan on $50-$200 grand. A Chevelle 454 would be nice for $40-$50 grand. On my budget I would be looking for a 68-72 Nova with a 350, dream of swapping a 396, 427, or 454 in it. Remember Yenko put a 427 in a 69 Nova and it was faster than a 427 Vette. Come up with your price range first and then decide what you can play with.

if you happe to live in orange county mission communtiy college has an engine rebuild calss and the teach has a delears license so you get all the parts cheap, and you make and build everything, and you can take a high preformance engine blue printing class if you would like.

Hello
I'm new to this forum...
2nd gen T/A's are a great choice With a 10k budget... Let me suggest a '79 WS6 car....
This was the last year for the 400 Pontiac (not to be confused with the corporate 400 small block) and was bolted to a T-10 4 speed... WS6 was a performance package that inluded 4 wheel disc brakes and HUGE front and rear sway bars and a limited slip 10 bolt posi... Fully loaded (wich most T/A's are) uncluded power everything; windows, locks, trunk... They sported way better styling than their Camaro cousins... This was also (1979) the last unmodified car to pace the Daytona 500!
And unlike Camaros you can find several unmolested ones under 10 grand... Aftermarket parts have gotten alot easier to find the last five years... Alot of folks bash these cars... But they are going up in value and factory 455 cars (pre-'76) can still be had under 20 grand...
Wanna go nuts grab an' 80-81 T/A and drop a 455 in it (it will need BB springs)
80-81 T/A nice and loaded with WS6= 3 grand
nice paint and interior work = 3 grand
400 hp 455 PONTIAC BB = 3 grand
Suspension and rear gear upgrade = 1 grand
= 10 grand
Total, one rice eating tire smoking bad ass machine, that will hold it's own with most any street legal muscle car out there!!!
Catch Pontiac Fever
the guys at Trans Am country will help ya out
Why waste your money corporate peice of crap built to last ten years or so with that money you can have just about any AMERICAN car ever made restored (by AMERICANS with more often American made parts) to your liking ... That will last another 30 years!

Some car enthusiats have little respect for others. Personally, I like all cars and I respect everyone's choice in car hobby. It ticks me right off when some enthusiast shows disrespect for others based on their car.

um...bad news...for me...im not getting a car any more, as you may know im 16, and my dad was going to buy a car that we could fix up, but a couple(actually 1 1/2, or something) years ago our boat got totalled, so now the car is put on hold and we are buying a boat, though interestingly enough we may buy a project boat, getting a new engine, hmm wonder if a viper engine could fit in the boat?
