how are you guys mounting your harnesses? i've seen harness bars that mount to the current sholder mount point and then the belts go over them. Where can i get one of these bars? and are they really that safe? I'm into autocrossing so i need to get harnesses in there. i've already posted another thing on this a couple days ago and no one has replyed.

i did it a little ghetto, since my shoulder straps were to short to reah the floor, i took about 3 feet of 1/2" thick iron, and curved it at a 90 degree angle in the middle. then i bored 2 holes in it and mounted it securely to the floor, then drilled a hole at the top and used that point to bolt the shoulder harnesses to, and to dress it up i put black split-loom around the metal between the floor and the belts. once i get a digital camera i'll show you a picture of it. :smokin:

I think you'd do well to use the harness bar, not only is it safe for your harness, but it also allows you to stiffen up your chasis. which is a good thing, and only adds minimal weight. Plus the fact that the harness bar looks a lot nicer, and you can remove it when you don't need it (bolt in).

what do you think about this bar?

or do you have any other ones that would be good? I'm on a budget here, but I want to be as safe as possible and I wanna keep my butt in the seat.
