best luxury SUV

which lux SUV you like most?

ha... im the first vote, and i dig the style of the bmw...
i love the color of the h/l's, and i like the muscular styling...
looks alot like a wild cat...
and for driving experience, i would take it...
however, if you want a plush ride fo all yo homeeez, go with the escalade... BIG pimpin there... but i dig the bmw b/c it still gets into that sports sedan style, just bigger...

Nice and comfortable+ SUV: Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade.
Sport oriented and roughed SUV: BMW X5
And well, the Mercedes ML as the styling of a minivan, sooooo mundane.

i don't consider the isuzu trooper a luxury SUV, limited or not. just about every suv has a limited edition, the explorer, the 4runner, the grand cherokee and everything else.

Sorry those choices are too spread out between the price ranges. Yet the Acura MDX is the best simply for what you get for the dollar.

I have to say the X5, not only is it a bimmer, the new 4.6is is a recent addition, which now makes IT the most powerful SUV in the world at a tidy 400 HP. Oh Yeah!

What else but the X5

I like the x5, it's more like a 5series sedan with all wheel drive, and it's fast.

X5 all the way..... but when the new Range comes.... i don't know where to spend my money?

ewww cant say i like that rovers headlights......then again, i dont really like anything style-wise on any of the rovers.....hmmm

bmw x5 - One SWEET handling suv
acura mdx - Best bang for the buck
infiniti qx4 - Drives more like a station wagon then a truck
mercedes ml430 - Ugly, and poor build quality. Get a BMW.
lincoln navigator - Big, fun, unpractical, and handles like a shopping cart on the hi-way
cadillac escalade - Never Driven
range rover - Never Driven
land rover discovery - Never Driven
lexus LX470 - Very nice interior, so-so exterior, very nice ride.

Escalade all the way. It's comfortable, powerful as hell, pretty nimble, and handles incredibly well for its size. It's very smooth too, even with 23" rims. And Caddilac service. awesome.

I like the Escalade very much too but I just don´t understand why it has that silly dashboard, is so unergonomic and edgie,:confused: :confused: :mad: :eek:

i'm sorry, GM makes some great cars. but their interiors are the worst on the planet. if they're not boring, they're cheap-feeling. if they're not way too busy, they're way oversimplified. just my opinion.

I THINK THE ESCALADE AND NAVIGATORS ARE BETTER, THE BMW'S ARE SMALL.:sun:

My top 3 are

1. BMW X5
2. Cadillac Escalade
3. Range Rover

That's in no particular order (even though it's numbered lol :) )
since they're not reall the same category, i didn't want to put them up against each other

Well we own a BMW X5 4.4i so i'm a little biased with that, but I like it, it handles awesome and it's damn quick for an SUV, it's pretty comfortable and pretty roomy. The heated steering wheel is just the best thing in the winter :)

I love the escalade, it's one of my favorite if not my favorite SUV..... I just love how it looks, and it's HUGE! lol, it's a nice cruiser, and luxurious.
It's also the most powerful SUV you can buy, with 350hp

The Range Rover is just a classic choice, I've always liked these

i would only pick the escalade cause its a big beautiful SUV

X5 4.6is = #1 SUV

nope, never heard of it. i live in the uk btw, we dont get many american cars over here. very few cadillacs, chevy's, no pontiacs, plymouth's, er... no lincoln's.... dont know too many american cars, sorry!

i dont like the look of the front of that escalade, and damn that is one heavy car, i take it all that power is really needed just to get the thing to move!

The RangeRover has to be vehicle of choice for this class though.
Its got the size, its got the power, its got the comfort, and unlike most of the American made oposition its also got decent suspension.
And to top it all off in the very off chance the owner ever did have to take it off road, (I mean really, how many are going to? these are pure poser wagons for soccer mums with inferority complexs (and little boys who want to be soccer mums) then it is still the best in the class.

The Escalade is a very beutiful piece of machinery that Cadillac came out with '99.It' got a 345HP 6.0l V8.I test drove one and would have bought it.But I got a very good deal on my Jag.To read more about it go to www.cadillac.com and click on Escalade at the top.But be pacient,it takes a minute to load.:)

Porsche Cayenne is by far the best 4x4- It has offroad ability to challenge the Rangie/Grand Cherokee, Bucketloads of torque if you ust happen to want to tow a big yaght or something like that.


Also it is the fastest SUV in the world (cayenne Turbo goes to 100 kph in jist under 5 seconds- while the Cayenne S does it in about 6.5), with onroad manners that sock it nicely to the M Class and X5.

Add to that the undisputed luxry and comfort that we expect from a car of this price AND the unparalelled Porsche reliability record:D

The Cayenne is Awesome ! It's maybe the better SUV today.

But the X5 is not far behind.

technically what Porsche have achieved is unbelievable, so the Cayenne can be seen as the best SUV out there. road performance is outstanding and off road is also excellent. truly awesome. the X5 is also fantastic off road... all other SUV's pale in comparison

SUVs get used little enough anyway, what's the point of a "luxury" SUV? Aren't luxury and utility terms that imply different meanings? I don't agree with any of them, but my vote went for the big, fancy Toyota. Probably as rugged and (more importantly) reliable as any.

I am wondering why the Limited Grand Cherokee isn't on that list? Don't give me the bullshit that it isn't, because it is, I have driven quite a few. They also can off road a lot better than pretty much every one on the list.

How much off roading have you done in one?

Lets just say that all of the Jeeps me or my family has ever had was not without battle scars at one point ot another from rocks or trees. Every Jeep we have had has been off road, not dirt roads, literally off road in mud, rocks, weeds, and other crap. Never once been stuck, yet.

Because there not a luxury SUV.Just because they got leather and a compass don't mean there a luxery SUV.

And Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited isnt half the luxery SUV any of those on the list are.

Im not familiar with all the SUVs on that list (namely the Acura) but i would call the Grand Cherokee Ltd a luxury SUV for sure

When I travel I rent cars,I don't use mine because of mileage.I have rented two limiteds.Both rode like crap.I did'nt like the way they handled and it felt tippy.If you think they are luxorious then you obviously have never drove a Cadillac Escalade or a BMX X5.

I still don't think that Luxury should have anything to do with SUV's- they belong to the rugged farmer types- not the Shool-run bimbos

It does make alot of Horsepower and has that luxury look. What is so great about the BMW X5? It goes off roading better?? If its luxury why would you take it off road of need to take it off road?

Escalade IMO (humble though that may be) looks like an apartment block on wheels - with similar charisma. Accurate descriptions include it being a 'ludicrous parody of itself' and not forgetting the 'rolling tribute to excessive consumption' cliche

As an example personified of what makes Euros generally superior to American cars, may I proffer to you that American interpretation/bastardisation of a quality Euro:
