your best bet would be to look around the audio section here, there have been countless threads over this in the last week alone

do you want hard hitting bass or just an overall nice sound? how much money do you have to work with and how much effort do you want to put into it? i have an eclipse as well and currently i am making a custom fiberglass enclosure for the trunk

Hard hitting bass or sound nice? Those are one in the same in my opinion. LOUD is the only thing different from sounding nice, and that is not hard hitting. http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_audio/drivers/brahma_series.htm pick up two of those twelves. http://www.subzeromfg.com/aseries.htm see if one of these dual 12 boxes will fit, the sealed one. buy 2 of these http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/axt_12002.htm This is the closest you can get to my favorite subwoofer setup, I would be in heaven with that. Pick up 4 of the required speaker size http://thezeb.com/caraudio/CDT_Audio_Components.html assuming four are used. One of these http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/db4440.htm and http://www.millionbuy.com/piodehp9400mp.html now remember in future posts ask "money is no object" and you get Money is no object, lol

holy shit are you fucking insane. that is like most ideal system i've ever seen. I mean two fucking brahma 12's that will wake up the fucking neiborhood, oh wait i mean the fucking city. especially if you give them their rms.
I would reccomend one tempest in a ported box( its a 15). give its rms with jbl amp. and i would reccomend some infinity kappa comps(good quality and fairly cheap).and how about a moderatly priced alpine head unit.
not a bad system, and i think its relitively cheap for the sq and spl you will get.

I wouldn't go with a jbl amp. I would go with avionixx or DEI

i don't see any reason to not get a jbl they usually put out more than rated. but avionixx are very good amps. i believe the jbl puts out the same power for less money. so its a matter of opinion. and that tempest will bump, and 3990$ is a hell of alot of money, at least for me.

He did say money is no object, so I pulled a expensive system out of my butt, lol. I would also suggest an e15a ported over a tempest, but then again that is me. I like JBL amps, but they are not the best. I have heard better about avionixx and DEI. I can get you a 1100 watt dei(1ohm) for about 270 when they come back in stock.

i would also reccomend an elemental designs over a tempest, but again he said he wanted to keep it under 600, and the tempest will get loud and sound great.

I wouldn't get the kappa components personally, they have good SQ but the highs are way too harsh and there is no midbass. I think a lot of this can be attributed to horrible crossovers that they come with, but that's just a guess.
