Which honda has been the best sport oriented car produced.

honda crx si, (Best hatch ever, considered by some)
the integra type R, (Best FWD handling car in the world)
civic si b16a2 (Set standard in economy vs performance)
prelude sh (Known for excellent handling)
s2000 (Most hp per litre in the world, 9000rvs)
NSX type S (13.0 flat 1/4 mile, aluminium chassi susp, titanium rods, hand built)

Comparing looks, price, performance, awards, handling etc.

price not a factor, the nsx is easily the best performing car from that list. but even its performance doesn't substantiate the price. the exotic factor is there as is the fact that it's hand-built with a lot of technology into it, but strictly speaking performance, there are better deals. not to say the nsx doesn't perform, it can definately hold its own quite well against other cars in its class. nonetheless, the typical buyers of the nsx aren't all out performance enthusiasts like the majority of members on this board are.

i would say overall the S2000 even it it takes a heavy foot to squeeze the power out of it. perfect driving position, probably the best 6 speed gearbox available if not best gearbox in general, and a blast to drive. i dont' care for the 9000 redline or the most hp/liter, the car is a remarkable machine.

True, I say the type R integra is a really good car also, to gain the title of best fwd handling car in the world in pretty awesome.

Most of them are all shit.

The NSX is as stunning as ever- and probably the best one ever made.

The original EF Civic SiR Still rates as the only real decent Civic aside from the rare EK Type R. In performance/Handling is what I mean

the Teg Type R is nice- but doesn't inspire me like a 200SX in JDM trim does.

The CRX is a deathtrap

while the S2000 is something of a torqueless wonder low down

the new s2k uses a stroked version of the previous engine so now it's 2.2 liters and a lot easier to live with on low and mid range. The engine also has a much less aggressive vtech system so the change is a lot less abrupt.

If they actually did iron out the rev problem in the new s2000 (haven't test driven a new one yet) then I would say that's the best car...btw the most hp per liter has been won and lost many times by many cars...I believe the s2000 doesn't have the highest power to liter ration anymore.

NSX is really nice and for an exotic it is really easy to live with, but the price tag still isn't. There are much better deals out there as said before.

Civics don't look nice or drive that nice to me. Preludes are one of the few hondas that actually have some personality...most have very bland and uninspiring looks...and while they aren't offensive to look at like most american econo-boxes and sport compacts (ala cavalier, neon, tempo, probe, etc etc etc) they are still nothing special to look at.

Integras...blah...they can be fast, but they again are nothing special to look at...even sporting a body kit haha

Well you said that most of them are shit, but gave props to the ITR, S2000, SIR, NSX

Most of them arent shit, IMO the crx and prelude arent really good car, but the SiR (my car jejeje), s2000, ITR, NSX are really cool.

Mine isnt fast or anything, its just a good engine mated with a decent handling car, that can walk over most 4cyl NA cars.

see taht is the problem. being able to walk over most 4 cylinder n/a cars isn't saying much at all.

edit: and about which one i would choose. the NSX definitly looks the best. but with that money i'd rather get a viper or a skyline. and my friend has a S2000 and its not that impressive to me either. but for some reason i love the integra type R. so i choose the the TEG.

Easy...NSX...but they made their own blunder when they overpriced it by 40k...would have had MAJOR success if it was cheaper and would be still be around if it were at that price...(I know it's still around but what I mean is the cheaper price couldnt have hurt)

I'm going to have to say the S800 M, because a sports car isn't all about power and speed, and S800 roadster can prove that a 791cc engine provides more than enough fun. The S800 was the culminating model of the original Hondas, and more refined than the earler S600 - today it's a classic, but it's still a true sports car, being as much fun to drive as anything out there.

could 't that car rev to a insanely high number too? something close to 9000 as well? since hte displaec is simliar to that of a motorcycle.

It's horsepower peaked at 8000rpm, the S600 peaked at 8500rpm - but they had nothing on Honda's special "N360 Touring" model, which put out 36hp from 354cc at an incredible (for '69) 9000rpm. Of course that was little bit of overkill for the power produced, Mitsubishi's Minica GSS put out 38hp from 359cc at 7000rpm (aproximately the same hp per liter as a Ferrari F50, and at a lower RPM too!)
