:eek7:
I have 2 Pulsars, almost identical but one is a late 87 and the other an early 88. In the 88 a few weird things haven't been working : My headlights are stuck on BRIGHT, the dashlights do'nt work, the parking lights dont' work, and I think the reverse lights aren't working either. :eek7:
I just put a stereo in the 87, and though the AUDIO fuse was fine, the stereo wasn't turning on. My room lamp was n't working and I found that the room lamp fuse had been blown (i dont' know when) as soon as I replaced that fuse the room lamp AND the stereo both work, but, now the EXACT same things that are wrong with the 88 just went wrong with the 87!! :banghead: the headlights, dashlights, parking lights, etc. and everything on that car worked fine before. I'm hoping this must be an issue someone else has dealt with since it's happened to both of my cars! If anyone can help, don't hesitate to post me or email or whatever!!! THankyou!

Well, I finally figured it out. I had grounded the stereo to a wire that SEEMED to be the ground for the stock system, but apparently the wire has to do with the lighting system. It's a green wire with a black (i think) stripe on it. anyway, I re-grounded the systems in BOTH cars to the Chassis and replaced the Tail Lamp Fuse, and headlights, dome light, etc, ALL work!! phew. I was afraid it would be much worse. Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.

I have run into the same problem. I just installed a new stereo and maybe its the ground, I will check tonight. Allred, I tried to email you but your box is full and bounced my email.

Is the ground to the stereo the problem. This seems to common of a problem for Pulsar owners.

UHHHHHHHH.... Hey newb.... this thread is 9 months old!

I have a feeling that someone will run into this problem again. Matter of fact, I fixed mine from one of these old threads. So if was 9 years old, it was still good.

I grounded that wire again somewhere else instead of using the wiring Nissan wiring harness and everything came back on like it had never happened.

Isn't this the Pulsar section??? Hmmmm...

You were talking to people that have not been on in 9 months... they are probably not going to answer... just trying to help you out! I would recomend that you start a new thread regarding this if you feel the need to go on about this subject... it's alot less confusing for everyone!

And yes, this is the Pulsar Forum... I'm glad you can read! Maybe then you will notice that you are replying and holding conversation with a nearly year old thread? have a nice day...

I think this thread should be restarted. This is huge since 95% of Pulsar stereo's have been taken out and Nissan grounded the indoor light wire with the stereo Wiring Harness. Maybe that is why my indoor lights don't work as well. I would have never read this post if it wasn't for the other Newb like myself. At least he is keeping it up to date. Props Newb, props.

Yo pulsarfreaks, good to see someone had the same dilemna i did, proving i wasnt insane. my radio would shut down whenever i turned the lights on, which wasnt much fun, cuz i live in a dark world. but anyway, just ran the ground on the radio to a nearby bolt, and all is well again. now if i could just get the tuner to get rid of jessica simpson, life would be well.
