I need some serious help guys. I have a 1996 A4 2.8 Q, with a stock delta cassett/radio. The car also has a Bose amp. I bought an Alpine CD player and all wiring harnesses that Best Buy could sell me. I just took out the stock radio and realized that the wiring harness i have, only hooks up to one of the existing plugs. the other plug dosent seem to go anywhere.
I guess my question is, Has anyone installed a cd player in a 96 a4? If so please help. pics, or anything would be of great assistance. Thanks!!

i found a place that sold the original cd changer and just did it that way...hard to find...it was really a hassel...and expensive...but its working just fine...the place is called avalon motorsports...call them up and ask about it...its not on the website for the 96 but if you ask them theyll hook you up with one...but one thing to ask them about is a cassett to hold the cds in and a mounting braket cause they dont come together with the changer...if you need anymore info let me know

I have worked in automotive electronics business for about 7 years and you cannot hook up aftermarket CD players to factory amplifiers without frying something. Unfortunately the easiest thing to do is to run new speaker wires to each speaker. You will also have to use crossovers to split the power of your Alpine to your mid-range and tweeters. Its not too much fun but I have never done it any other way. Good luck.

You CAN hook up an aftermarket deck to factory amps. I've done it dozens of times. You won't fry anything if you know what you're doing.
