94 my cd player desplay comes on and off

the light to my cd player you know which shows the track and time and radio station it works some times but most off the time it is shut off the music still works but I just cant see what radio station I am listening to. this is a stock cd player I have never changed it. I have a 1994 grand cherokee limited. someone help me






also my cd player skipps some times seems it wont even play burned cds even if I just made them with absolutley no scrates why does it do this

The 94 CD player won't support most of today's CD formats--not too much you can do about that unfortunately. :shakehead
You might be able to get the display working if you remove the deck and tear it apart(sounds like a loose wire). If you're not electronically inclined I wouldn't recommend it--It might be time to replace the whole unit. One thing to check is the brightness controls on the dash-make sure that the problem isn't related to the dimmer controls for your dash lights :smokin:

I do not understand the statment that the radios will not handle the new type of music. When I make a cd I convert my mp3s to wave and play them in any cd player. I too have a problem with my cd player not playing any cds at all. All I get is an error message (err#1). I have had the player working in the pass but nothing now...Any suggestions?
