I am about to purchase eaither a 98 sv or an 98 Roadster. I will want to put a NOS system on the car.

Questions.

1. Where can I buy it?
2. What kit is it?
3. What shot can we run without upgrading the fuel system or tanking the motor?
4. Can it be removed without making it obviouse that it was installed?
5. What kind of power can the eninge and clutch take?
6. Is the 10.98 your best time? Spinning?Street tires?

Im not an expert on Nitrous but ill tell you what i know. I have a dry setup, which is the least powerful setup you can buy. There are now computer controlled kits that inject nitrous with fuel through the fuel injectors, which is the best way to go, and will make much more power than mine and still be reliable. I would go this route, but now that i live on Maui, i dont have much use for the nos anyway.

My kit is just 2 six cylinder dry kits put together. Very basic setup. I have one switch under the dash which when turned on allows the nitrous to come on only under full throttle. I have the 2 jets positioned way back by the air filter boxes. We did this to be safe, as the best place for them is right behind the throttle bodies. As for fuel, with the dry kit i did not have to upgrade my fuel system. The dry kit just sends a pulse to my fuel pressure regulator increasing fuel supply. Very safe way to go, not the most powerful way, but i know several others who have run this way for many years.

As for clutches, my car is now 5 years old and still on its perfect original clutch. I dont do burnouts. The 10.98 was spinning the whole way down the track, with very little track experience in the car.

Great choice on the Sv, do exhaust and airfilters before nitrous, you may be very suprised at the difference those 2 mods make alone.

Also, ive heard the Japaneese are running 250 shots in some Diablos with upgraded fuel systems reliably. If you did exhaust, air filters, and a 200 direct port nitrous shot, youd be unstoppable.

Hiphop- I own several small businesses, dealing with construction on several different levels. I graduated the University of South Carolina in 2000 and have accomplished a good amount of things in my 26 years of life. I am motivated by others, always was. I started a fire inside of my heart during my high school years. I had to strive to be the best at whatever I do, its a struggle but im on my way.

Allanlambo- I dont know much about the bottom end of these motors. Do they have forged internals? What does your SV run in the quarter w/o the NOS? Thanks for the insight.

I believe the internals are forged. Id have to check. Like i said, i know many people who have been running nitrous for years on these motors with no problems. Compression checks have come back good also.

As for drag racing, i dont really have much experience with it. My buddy who has the identical car to mine, a purple Sv, has made 100's of passes. His first run he turned a 13.7@117, with practice he got down to a 11.60@123.

The 6.0 interior is the nicest, but the Sv exterior is the coolest. If you want the 6.0 dash, you can buy a 99 Sv.

is there much of a difference in performance?with the 99 sv and 2001 vt?

The 6.0 will be marginally quicker from a dead stop if the clutch is heavily abused. The SV is faster from any roll on speed.
