need help: REVELL ENZO building problems...

i have a problem with my revell enzo: the over cams (i think thats what they're called, they are the 2 red engine covers) dont fit!!! they are way to big!!! The engine covers are not yet painted or anything, so if anybody who has built a revell enzo has had this problem, could you please tell me how to fix this and make the engine covers fit? would filing work?

Are you sure you are placing the cam cover correctly? They have up and down side (which is easy to find by looking at the orientation of the Ferrari logo), as well as right and left side.

great site hirofkd!!! well, the problem is the cam covers are to long and they dont fit into the engine halves, so do u have any suggestions? also i made a BIG mistake with the cams trying to remove the nubs left from the sprue... i was filing them away when i noticed the i went to far and distored one of the sides on each (not a straight edge, almost wobbly), if you could please help me fix this mistake it would VERY, VERY, helpful!!!

If it's too long, just remove the rib under the cam cover. As long as you can place it in the right place, it isn't necessary anyway.

To fix the over-filed area, I recommend using superglue as putty.

Simply apply superglue to the over-filed area with a toothpick several times, until superglue fills the missing area, then, file and sand to blend the superglue putty with the plastic.

If the over-filed area is too large, weld a piece of plastic, wait for overnight, then file the excess plastic.

In any case, move the file in longitudinal direction, so that you can maintain the straight line of the side of the cam cover, and you won't over-file a particular spot again.
