is it adjustable preload? if it is that would be a way, but i think it would affect the handling of the bike if you went that far with lessening the preload. so Id wait to hear if it is recomended to do so before I went out and did it, cuz you only got so much travel to play with, and you are taking 1 inch of compression away from something that has like 4.5 inches of travel tops, maybe 5, but I think its usually like 4.5 inches rear travel.

No! The preload is to adjust sag only. To lower the bike you'll need to drop the forks and install a lowering link.

well, I am not saying yours isnt the right way, but when you sit on it and it sags more, then the seat is lower, thats what I was thinking when i posted.

Well, you pretty much have two options. Shave the foam from the *bottom* of the seat.... which will suck for your toosh. The other option is "dog bones" They lower the suspension so that the seat is lower. Try running a google search or ask at a shop about them.

Yes, but suspention is a delicate balance. The preload is there to adjust for weight, so that the rest of the suspention operates properly, and within it's ranges. If a peron was heavy and short then the suspention would bottom out easily. Which would not be good for the bike.

Here is a link to the lowering links, or dog bones.
