Ernie is on a messageboard I vist, and hes a cool guy, very down to earth, so Im glad he won. Apparently he owned Imamura on the circut!

hey, you're talking about d1 right? yeah i was there too. that was a pretty dope show. the best was at the end when they all did the merry go round, and when the 86 stuck the rx7, that was nice. i have never been to a drift session before and after seeing this one, all i got to say is that the drifting was kool as hell and the pro cars, but as for the crowd, i don't about that! but thats kool that the pros are just giving what the crowd wants. if the crowd likes strobe-light headlights and it pumps them up, thats what they get right? its all a show for fun, and to blow up the drifting craze to america. my question to you is this: do you think it was setup to have whatever car the crowd rooted for the most would win the session, since they said points werent counted on this session? NOTHING againts ANY of the drivers or cars, they are ALL the best drifters. just wondering, because my friend brought it up while we were watching, and when everyone was rooting, "ONE MORE TIME!!!" how they did it again to pump up the crowd more. or is it just coincidence that the 86 REALLY won and at the same time, thats the car everyone wanted to win? If you ask me, I wanted the 86 to win.

Ive heard D1 is rigged, and a number of drift competitons that pre-date D1 were rigged so the parts companies feature cars(APEX Altezza etc.) would win, and get exposure, boosting sales.

I know Ueo and his AE86 have won D1 before, but honestly, I dont know and cant say, cuz I wasnt there.

I heard the crowd SUCKED, they were jacking anything with the words D1 and Drift on it, like banners and crap, and were dumping garbage cans everywhere so they could stand on them.
