Which would be better for drifting. The 350z is slightly out of my price range but I could work extra to get it. The car will be used for autocross drag and drift setups. Which would you get?

If you lighten up the 300ZX it could be a good drift car, but I haven't heard much about the 350Z.

i think that the 350 would be better for drifting because it has a shorter track vs wheelbase. Because the 3z has a fairle=y wide track vs wheelbase.

300Z's are infamous for their porky weight problems.

they can be lightened and be good performers, though. i'm a late-model Z31 lover myself (the ones with the tail-lights that go straight across the back, not split), and if i found a nice enough one i would lighten it up for drifting. the Z32's can do the same thing, but they're heavier (i think) and also, as said, wider. they're also alot more expensive.

350Z's are alot more nimble. if you've seen coverage of the D1 GP USA, there were 2 350Z's in the field, one from JIC and one from Tein. also, at the RS-R Drift Festival a few months ago, RS-R brought out a done up 350Z and drifted it around.
