Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

I know a little bit about drifting and car control, but I came up with a question. There's this cool move I thought of, and I'm not sure if it's totally possible.

Here it is: A person wants to link a left and right turn together. I know a driver can switch directions in mid-drift by lifting off the throttle and getting back on(assuming they countersteered). I think it's called the pendulum technique.

My question is about a variant of that technique. Instead of getting back on the throttle hard enough to initiate a second drift, what about using the throttle to end/minimize the drift and power your way out of the second turn? Basically, the driver would change from drift to grip style. I'm thinking it might be possible, provided the driver had very, very good foot control. What do you guys think?

The reason for my asking is that I'm writing some racing stories, and one of the characters performs this maneuver. If it really isn't possible though, I'll take it out.

Sounds like you would induce more of a loss of control than gain.
