Just wondering, I personally like the 2001 Dark Bowling Green Convertible with a tan top and Tan interior. I want the polished wheels, six speed, Z51, ISC package. If I had an extra 50+ grand I would want a Z06. Woud be nice! Lets hear your favorite year or years!

I vote for the C2. I quite simply think its the most beautiful car ever designed.

This was a really tough call. I think I like the styling on the C2 & especially the C3 more, but I just had to go for the C5. Z06's rule, man, what can I say? Basically, if I were to be given a car, I would take a stingray...but I would rather buy a C5.

69 Sebring Greenwood Corvette has got to be not only the most unique, finest style, but as fine a car ever. I still don't understand how I came to own this but Bubba is as fine standing still as it is cruising.

The finest corvette ever made is the 1969 L-88 Coupe. Tuxedo Black w/ red interior, sidepipes, and redline tires. (I am currently restoring one.) Second would have to be the Z06, also black w/ red interior (what I drive now). I also love all mid years, preferably a 66 coupe with the 427/435hp tri-power:D

the C4 is the uglies thing in the world.. a waste of a vette. I LOVE all other years, but the C4 needs to explode... [no pun intended]....too flat and 80's ish...

WTF?
Sorry but te c4's continued to carry on what a corvette really is, originality.

The c5's broke that and went off with a completely UNORIGINAL DESIGN.

C4's are one of the prettiest vettes ever, and guess what its ALL ORIGINAL, can' t say that about the Firebird/Camaro/NSX/RX7 Clone called a C5.

Tay Jay- dont stress, he is an idiot if he REALLY thinks that, without the C4 where would we be today?

Easy guys!! The C-5 is not really that much of a new design, but a "graduated" C-4. Parked side by side, it's easy to see the likenesses between the two. I have to say that I personally was crushed when the C-4 went with the "square" rear lights. But I guess with all things change is good, or to be expected anyway. Then I saw the "cat eye" rears of the C-5, and shook my head for a few days. I got over that one also. I love my 00' hardtop.
You don't have to like previous or current Corvettes. But realize that without the previous model, there wouldn't be a current model. And todays model, the C-5, will be tomorrows (C-6) building blocks.

I had to go with the C5 just because of the Z06, I've seen 3 of them and every time i catch a glimpse of it i go bonkers and scream like a little girl.

Even though I have a Tourch Red Hardtop on black my favorite vette would be tie between a millenium yellow on black coupe or a Tourch Red on tan coupe. I like the fastback looks of the coupe and the rear hatch reiminds me of the canopy of an F-16. Although if I were getting another it would be a millenium yellow on black Z-06, because of the power increase and it as HUD now. That is the only thing I hate about mine is not having HUD. I would ditch the Z06 wheels and go with BBS or something because i think the Z06 wheel looks to "ricey". I replaced the wheels on my 99 with chrome 2000 style, and it makes a world of a difference the 97-99 wheels look cheap. If only Z06's were availeble as coupes. My least favorite vette are the Ragtops because I think large obtuse rear is to noticeble on the roadster especially the lighter colors.

I'm thinking most of the people voting must be young....(ie to them newer is better). The most notable Corvette is simple. 1967 L-88. Almost 600 HP from the factory. No comparison. Why else would it be THE most expensive vette around today? Costs as much as an original Cobra. Not to mention most true 'vette enthusiasts would have to go for any '67. But then again....I'm biased!

I love all corvettes and have for many years but as Vettes come and go the best in my opion is a 79'. The only other to compare is about a 69' double rear-windowed stingray. Back when these babes where built things where meant to last.:D New vettes are okay but 60'-70' will always be my favorite.

I really love all the vette's
but i can't bring my self to like the C4 model
I respect the ZR-1 and its power but from what i read it does horrible on the track or atleast rides bad.

Almost every magazine i read about the C4 had negative complaints about it (ie: Car&Driver and Motortrend)
so i guess i just put my trust into the professionals.
If anyone has some real good stats about the C4 please tell!!:D

Other than that i really really like the new C5, especially the Z06 model with its brand new 405hp engine!!!!!!!!

I myself didn't really take much notice of the Corvette until the Z06 came into the market. The reason for this is that the C4 model, in my opinion, does absolutely nothing for me. Several of my friends complain of the harshness of its ride. The say it's much like having reconstructive surgery on your spine. Bleh. To hell with the C4. Forget the past. Look to the future. Long live the C5 Z06. Bring on the extra Horsepower, baybee!

The ZR-1 handles very well. At least as good, if not better, than the C5 coupe and convertible. Of course, it isn't as good as the Z06. I've read skidpad at .93G's. About the ride, you're right, its one of the worst riding cars I've ever been in. The power is awesome, definetly worth the lack in ride. You really need to drive one to know what I'm saying...
Oh yeah, my favorite vette is probably a '66 BB...I don't like the fake intake/stinger on the '67.

Corvettes have been always a great machine i especially love the older corvettes more expensive recently i was to a couple of car dealers with my dad.... let me just say what i say there was amazing.... in the lobby 2 restored stingrays.. that aint nothing i went back i say another 25 just sitting there waiting to be sold some c5's but i swear that guy everything and 50 of it u name it...

I would have to say the c3 mainly because i own one. I garantee that you could pull more women in a stingray than in a zo6. "mainly because women aren't smart enough to know that a zo6 is a corvette.

11-15-2001, 03:28 PM
thats sort of true...more women compliment me on my '79 than they do on my '90. My '90 is a C4 though, and not too many people really like them. I think they know C5's are vettes, they just like the curves better:)

i love all corvettes, i think the first gens are great looking, and they are really cool when people put late-model drivetrains in them. the mid-year cars are also great loking, plus they are fast as hell. I like the early sharks, but once they got the rubber bumpers and the power levels dropped, they werent very cool anymore (i say this even though my mom has a 77). i hate the look of the eighties cars, but they were groundbreaking for their time. i like the late c4's and the c5s and especially the zo6 are great.

C-1 pretty ok car
C-2 The core of what a corvette should be, and my favorite
C-3 don't particularly care for them
C-4 hate 'em ugly
C-5 now we are getting back to a cool corvette. Like the euro styling

Someone in our neighborhood has a beautiful white Corvette I don't know what year it is though. It looks similar to the style of that black one, and thats what I think looks the best. C-5 looks great too that was a good call on design.

If I could get a new vette it would be a blue z06. I would have to give my vote to the '63-'67 vettes. I did this because of one car in particular, the 1967 L88 in Marlboro Maroon.

FreEk_ShoW

Tough choice between the first style of Corvettes and the new ones. I'd probably go with the new ones though because of how much they are improved over the original Corvette's.

I like that classic styling though....those 40's and 50's cars with the wide V on the front to represent Chevrolet.

SledgehammerVette
09-18-2002, 07:27 PM
I couldn't vote on this one since I like all the Vettes except for the C3. The '82-'89 most pitiful Corvette to date :(.

The 2001-02 Z06 in Red kick major ASS!!!!

The '69 LT1 and '69 L88s are probably the best Corvettes, and one of the most expensive ones.

They all kick ass.

'57 Fuel Injection
'63 Split Window
'67 427 Big Block
'90 ZR-1
'97+ C5s

I can't decide, I love them all!

71Shark

Love 'em all but the first time I sat behind the wheel of a shark I got weak in the knees. Those coke-bottle fenders are the sexiest automotive design ever built.

Well... I guess I'm biased as well. The C5 has so much new technology, handles great, has comfort and great looks. My torch red coupe is a real head turner!

The ZR1s are the best corvettes to me because they really helped remake the image of the vette. They were ferrari killers (at only a fraction of the price, although double that of a standard model of the time) and are beautiful machines.

C5, the best design by far! Best power for the buck, and with all the money saved you can supe it up and beat almost anything on the street.

lol what money? Most people buying C5's are in their 50's making payments on it. Don't start with that crap.

Personal Fav. My mom had a 1970 with a 454 in it that was all original...and one amazing car. Her personal Fav. that I never saw was her 1967 with I believe a 427 in it. She said it was a lot faster than the 70 she had
