I started my drifting fun back in the late 80's :naughty: I grew up going from race track to race track. Just sitting in the stands having a good time with my mom and dad. One day I hit 16 and asked my dad about learning some of the tricks of going fast and keeping the car painted side up. At that point he took me out and found a good out of the way DIRT road with nothing to hit like trees or other cars. Then the teaching was on and I was hooked. I feel it was the best thing he could have ever done for teaching the skills NEEDED for the way I wanted to drive.
With dirt you can learn at slower speeds and far less risk. After ALOT of dirt time my speeds kept getting faster and faster. Sure I lost the car 100s of times but thats part of it. But I NEVER put another driver at risk with learning. Now I knew how the car would act in a HARD drift (back then slide :screwy: ) and how to pull it off.
Now I am 31 and love the drift. Working on a 240Z for the fun roads :p
I know this as fact!!!! Learn in the dirt and your skills on the blacktop will shine :grinyes: You will also save beating on you ride and we all know beating up your ride = money spent :uhoh:
IMO the guys in the photo (World of outlaws drivers)are the kings of the drift (IN THE STATES). 100 + MPH in a drift for lap after lap :22yikes: .
